Kathleen Parker & David Brooks Agree: Beck & Limbaugh Stoking Racism

David Brooks should be ashamed of himself, comparing William Jennings Bryan to Father Coughlin and Glenn Beck. Here's the difference: Bryan wanted to use the power of the government to help people (He was an early supporter of the 16th, 17th, and 19th Amendments.), while Coughlin didn't want the government to help poor people (and had Nazi sympathies) while Glenn Beck has Nazi Tourette's and engages in race-baiting.

wealth can only be derived from natural resources,which reside in the "country"...this is where wealth is created...the city,on the other hand,has typically been the refuge of people acting as parasites to the real wealth producers...this is where the animosity begins...it is not a matter of education,it is, rather, a matter of integrity...in the early west,city dwellers were the landless, the gamblers, shysters, and prostitutes...it hasn't changed that much

Even if u have not a cent to your name one can still educate oneself with books, the internet...I have never been to uni. I have no degree, but I have a high intellect from reading, researching, questioning, enquiring, talking to ppl from every walk of life, every religion, every culture, every profession...

Surely 'country folk' hav a thirst for knowledge too...But then Sarah Palin is a classic case of uneducated 'backwoods babe'. (VP??) She couldn't even name a *newspaper* she's read..!

Makes sense, the rural hicks with their guns & animal corpse hanging on their shoulders are the ones stoking flames of envy & resentment against the educated intelligent City ppl. Why don't they just let themselves *become* educated & intelligent? It's so easy...All u have to do is know how to 'think'!!!!

From outside US it's *blatantly obvious* that this viral vitriol against the President is saturated with racism! These bigots can deny it until their faces turn celestial blue! But anyone with half a brain can tell it's pure envy that a 'black man' is now the Pres. of US. They just can't handle it. Blood vessels are bursting all over the place. I'm waiting to see who has the first stroke...Beck, Rush? Michael Savage? Hannity?

If the opposition to President Obama was about 'policy' repubs would be having rational intellectual discussions about their qualms. They wudn't b calling the Prez the 'n'word or the 1st lady a 'monkey'; or calling him a 'racist', saying he hates white ppl! In UK even wen ppl disagree we always speak with integrity & intelligence. We never use threatening rhetoric! Like u say, most Americans r freedom loving people, but this small pocket of psychos sure puts a thorn in the US rose of freedom!
