THE GREAT DECEIVERS(KING CRIMSON tribute band) play on Friday, January 20th, 2012 at 10pm at The Universal Bar and Grill in North Hollywood near Universal City. Don't miss them. They play songs like Starless, Lark's 2, Exiles, 21st, 3 of a Perfect Pair, Vrooom Vrooom and Fracture!!!
impresionante!!!!!!!!!! que material alucinante con Greg Lake, impresionante!!! , me quede sin palabras, alucinante, gracias loco por este temazo y este material!!!!
@JonBenet6 Yes, but he wasn't as important as Emerson and Palmer...and he told to Fripp, about his playng:"You can't sit down; you'll look like a mushroom''
Greg Lake, before he ballooned out to about 350 pounds, made a smart career move when he jumped ship here and got onboard with Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer. Rusty chains of prison moons, indeed!
@joctheviper1 I agree the stunned fucking lotus lickers showed just how un prepared they were for King Crimson! they were like " oh man is this the stones new sound???"
I saw KC at Hyde Park in 1971. Jack Bruce played there that day. It was free then. Yes that's right FREE to get in. Crimson were a v sophisticated prog rock band and their work endures, as quality always does.
@squirglegog yep i was there too.many free concerts hyde park in the 70s,one in particular i remember was oz benefit for the up coming trials believe it was 4th july.was definitely there but have no idea who played, maybe you can enlighten me??
@11kagE11 You're right, this is them in the recording it in the studio, since that's the version that's playing. They kindly asked the audience to STFU and had master sound engineers create invisible sound walls around the stage.
@goodolarchie One would assume that this was shot without audio! Super 8 was introduced in 1965, but not with audio until 1973.
Recording film with audio was not such an easy task back then, iPhoners! :) You'd need audio recorded separately!
It would be great to see all the singing synched up, and a 5 camera setup of the whole band, and a 10 hour documentary about what else was happening that day. Lord, that would be awesome. But I'm just glad someone cut this together at all! ROCK!
@k0stil I don't think you've ever listened to their other work. Try listening to In The Wake Of Poseidon, Lizard, and Islands. Only then should you open your mouth.

I was there. The wind dislodged part of the stage decor and this fell on the head of King Crimson. He played on.
