My sons started when they were 4 and 6. They practice My Jong Law Horn style of kung fu, a rare style. They have coordination and discipline that is very advanced for their ages. Sure, they are just little boys who like to play video games and goof off once in a while, but they are growing and learning in a school that is like a big family. Anyhoo, enough of my spill, go check out my videos if you want to see my kung fu kids in action!
chinese invented there kung fu and all that but when budhism was introduced to china by indian budhists , they were also introduced to something called (yodha bhaktii) meaning warriors meditation and the chinese martial arts leaders at that time paid lots of attention to it because after doing this new thing they were much focused and could do wierd things like u see monks doing today. hanging from trees upside down and all that shit. peace - i love bruce lee since i was young r.i.p!
@puncru Umm, no, martial arts were invented out of necessity, for warfare and self-defense, ever since those needs existed.
Yes, it is true that most styles we see today owe their existence to Shaolin practices from the 6th century AD onwards, BUT China has had Kung Fu ever since it has had warfare - which is a very long time.
Also, meditative practices existed before Chinese Buddhism in Taoist schools of TaoYin/QiGong. The Wudang Mountains are especially known for this.
True, but what form or style was it's root? Wing Chun... He studied under Grandmaster Yip Man. Wing Chun is Gung Fu. And by the way, the translation of Gung Fu is 'great skill' which can be applied to any trade, not just martial arts... FYI, Jun Fan's school had the term 'Gung Fu' in it's title...
kung fu is good for theater in real life street fighting such as martial arts which were invented in india more then a 1000 years ago by the caste called kings(rajputt) rulers of areas! today it's everywhere mixed with other countries fighting styles like the mma, pride and the ufc.
Thanks for feedback, but I beg to differ in regards to the effectivenesss on the street. My son's Shifu is only 19 and would not get caught on the other end of his techniques. You may understand the origins from the Indian side, but you should probably stick to just that. Oh by the way, Bruce Lee taught Gung Fu and was credited in winning every street fight that he was in, go figure...
yes, the requirement for shaolin kung fu master is starting age of 2 and graduation of 25-29 unless the monk chooses to stay, from the looks it looks like mung fu hi school of kung fu, isnt it?
Yin Shou Gun - basic Shaolin pole form. Cute performance, the mabu stance at the beginning was funny :)
He actually did an orientation mistake at the end. You can actually see it when he suddenly jumps to the other direction and into the final stance correcting the moves before. :D
I beg to differ. Shi Yan Feng, my son's Shifu, is not bow legged. Shi Xing Hao the same. In fact, he's about 5' 10". Both of which started at the round about age of 5 years old. So, you're theory, has no basis. Thanks for your comment though.
Hey, Chong, I think that you'd do better playing with yourself while watching a couple of Bruce Li bootleg films... You'd definitely get more out of it.
in a shaolin school they learn only ab that, in Europe and USA kids have to learn moore different things, the shaolin are so good bcuz they have been learning the same thing allmost since they were born!
he was mocking the people who post about the ufc on every martial arts video..he wasnt saying he would get beat up if he entered a mma tournament. he was mocking them only XD :p

You shouldn't start practicing serious Kung Fu before the age of 6. It can stunt your growth and make you bow-legged.
