I like this scene in the movie and we should respect every human being as he is.Every Human born on this earth being should be treated equally, with dignity and respect. The real Untouchable should be the Hitler,Stalin,Mao,Mussolini,Genghis Khan,Timur who murder innocent, helpless human beings
ar rahman has raised his ba r so much tht even the yrs best masterpiece slumdog millionaire sounds ordinary. tht man is not a legend, he makes legends.
Aamir and Ashutosh should be very respected and appreciated for putting in the message of unity and love in this movie. I´m Pakistani and I love how they have shown that Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs...even the so called Achoot/untouchable have come together in their struggle. Very nice and encouraging! There are few if almost none Bolly movies touching this matter.
they r called untouchable because for exmaple you a twig what happens you bend it it breaks but when you have a bunch of twigs and you try to break them they wont break this is smiliar to that when all of you stick togetahe rno one can touch you
@Khwaab There are few movies in the world at all that touch on this matter as well as Lagaan does. I'm a westerner, I was not raised with the divide between Hinduism and Islam as part of my culture, and certainly no concept of "untouchables" other than what I learned in school, and yet every time Bhuvan places his hand on Kachra's shoulder a shudder of emotion runs up my spine and I can't help but smile at the strength of such a small yet so powerful a gesture it is.
It is so sad that even among these wonderful Indian people there are social stratas and statuses that should now be obsolete...I respect their ciulture but do not share it...what does that mean by excluding this man and calling him untouchable? We are all the same under the same God on earth, whatever the name of your God we are all people and we are all the same...I did not get that X(
Yes, that was a shameful part of our culture. It was more a societal evil than something pertaining to culture actually.
That has however, been more than compensated with the current Indian regulations of reservation for "backward classes" in jobs, colleges and other fields.
yeah that is true, although this movie was set in 1800s the caste system is not all obsolete but there are tremendous amount of change in the social heirachy.
yep perfectly true man.. but a lot of other ppl say that is why he doesn't deserve an award fr slumdog.. i would say.. although its not the best .. its the best in the year.. so no probs in him gettin an award..
