Bears fans I'm just warning you about Meriweather, from a Pats fan: He came to the Pats as raw, and he left the Pats as raw. His Pro bowl selection last season baffled not just the NFL world but the Pats nation as well. He was their 3rd most valuable safety behind Patrick Chung and James sanders. he gambles way to much and likes to be a hitter, but trust me it will be frustrating when he blows defensive assignments for the Bears. He has the talent of a pro bowler, but not the smarts of one.

@MJohnnyboy He's definitely shown flashes of being an elite safety, but that only came at individual times and never on a consistent basis. Keep this in mind: James Sanders was released because he was a cap hit, but Meriweather was released because special team safeties Sergio brown and Josh Barrett outplayed him in training camp and pre-season. I hope Meriweather find his niche with the Bears, but he is a very flawed player who will piss you off. May I ask about Mark Anderson's ups and downs?

i say start Meriweather sit DJ Moore and move Wright to the nickel position... Moore is to smalll and has a real problem against bigger slot recievers.. Wright is more athletic and could play either postion.. This way u can have both playmakers on the field..

If you knew the personal you'd know Moore is a play maker, Major Wright is a bigger hitter and thats all he brings to the table. Check out the combine results before you say Wright is a more athletic. Never said we don't have a offense even though we don't. he should start by week 3 against the pack, It depends on how Major wright performs I see the bears inserting him in for another year while major wright learns, wright is athletic and has plenty potential and it close to being a starting calibur NFL safety maybe 1 year away.
