I have generally found most of my favorite poets to be horrendous readers, even of thier material. With the exception of excellent readers like Dylan Thomas, many just sound wack.
Poetry authors, like Robert Frost write some very good material. However, I have yet to hear any of them recite any of their works well. e.g. Stevie Smith; "Not Waving But Drowning" - she errors in a public recitation of HER OWN poem. It's here on YouTube, look her up.
@careyeOhkey What's wrong with this recitation? I paid your channel a visit and watched you recite the same poem and frankly I found your style artificial and vain. I feel that reading the exact words as they were printed is not what poetry reading (or song singing for that matter) is about, it's about conveying feelings.
