For a moment there I thought the 'fire' hose was going to shoot just that, fire!
To nit-pick, technically the newspaper transition should look like a comic strip, where the only text possible are numbers. It is very difficult to correctly represent the repressive world in the story with just a quick trailer, so you and your fellow classmates did a very good job.
@Nielk1 Glad you liked it. It would have been nice to be able to do a better job, but, at the time all I had access to was Windows Movie Maker. Thus I was limited in my creativity. My newer videos feature better editing, check them on out on my channel.
@malehawk You may be right about that. But, I've said it before, just a project for a class. Kinda funny how it works out like this. If it gets me more views, then fine. You should read some of the stuff on my Illuminati video.
@StalinM41 i will subscribe to take a look at the illuminati video although am not too much on religious conspiracy theories (am atheist) but am also open-minded. Let me see and then i will tell you about it.
@malehawk Well, what you'll realize with my videos, I don't really take a stand on anything. I just a make a video to song. Not really sure if people think I am trying to do something other than this. Hell, "Illuminati" came about because I liked the song and I like the movie Tomb Raider. So I made a video about guns. Nothing more. But you read the posts, and see what you get? Maybe people should ask Bootsy Collins and Fatboy Slim about the song.
FYI, that is usually what credits are for but... the song the is "This Fffire" by Franz Ferdinand. There are two versions of the song, this fire, and this Fffire.
Also 60sThru80s settle the fuck down. Its just a fucking trailer he made for a class project freshman year of high school! No need to be a bitch about it on Stalins and Metdawgs comment feed. As you can see your the only one who gives a fuck about it supposedly not having any relevance to the book. Just to let you know everyone receives messages differently. You may think this video has nothing to do with the book but thats just your opinion.
It is not a story of fascist domination. It is a story about a LAZY POPULACE.
Jettison the TV-induced cliches about "big bad ol' govment!" and you'll appreciate that everything Bradbury predicted from the populace has come true.
You don't need the government to be "anti-book" when the PEOPLE have become anti-book, anti-reading, without any outside assistance.
Your vid betrays the fact that you never read the book.
Yes, and I agree that some, but maybe not all of Bradbury's predictions have come true. TV will be the death of us all, I suppose. But, here is a fact. This was a friggin junior high school english class project. My teacher was pathetic. My group had the topic to write a trailer for a possible movie version. I made an actual trailer and basically embarrased the rest of my class. But yes, I did read the book. I enjoyed it. It poses interesting thoughts. But, I didn't care for that class.
I read the book. I enjoyed it. Here is a thought: When you see a trailer for a movie, do you put complex themes into a 2.5 movie trailer? No. You put interesting scenes that convey to the audience something that they would want to watch. This isn't the movie of fahrenheit, its the trailer. And in the book, "firemen" burned books, houses, and more. And the nation was at war, if you also recall. Things blowing up and burning catches ones eye, don't you agree?
Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. I guess I'm a product of my time. 30+ years ago, the trailer would have encapsulated the spirit of the book, and that would have been the draw to see the film. Trailers USED TO (I know this is hard to believe) include riveting exchanges of dialog.
I reread my original message and I was unduly harsh. I see your point.
But explosions and micro-edits speak poorly not so much about the state of film-making but about the state of todays audiences.
Well, it is kinda hard to find footage of TV walls, and I couldn't exactly make it CG for a high school project. Also, this is a movie trailer. So you cannot go into much depth with the time allotted. But thanks for the comment. I appreciate it.
god i hAte idiots who dont label there videos correctly saying its not the real one this video should be renamed or flagged ._.

The only one who can honestly bitch about this is Ray Bradbury himself.

Someone hasn't read the book.
Someone hasn't listened to Bradbury.
It has ZERO to do with government or totalitarianism. READ THE DAMN BOOK!
You know what prompted Bradbury?
It was Reader's DIGEST magazine.
And books being ABRIDGED.
It is the PEOPLE that don't want to read. It had nothing to do with government and the boring old cliche of "state censorship."
It was SELF-censorship from the bottom-up, not top-down.
