you best be sure you hold on to that car ford only produced them for 2 years and then went on to the third generatation bronco that one you have is mint and its value increases every day i have a 79 like that about the same colour but a little darker and a little rust on the sides but easyly fixable no holes or anything

I got a 460 in my f 350 it gets about 12mpg there pretty bad on gas but they have got fuckin balls man.There made for power!a 460 is a freaking power house man and I love it!fill up those tanks and kick some ass!460s rule!!!!

My '78 Bronco has a '92 Fuel Injected (stock) 460 from a F350 that does better on mpg than the 400 did and has tons of power. All stock except for a set of Stan's tri-Y headers. Love that truck.

ive got a hot rod magasine.. and they say the ford 351m and the 400 are the same block... just the 400 has a 4" stroke and the 351 has the 3.5" stroke... im pretty sure its all right to say 400 m

In the 70's ford was looking to cut costs so they used the same tooling on the machines and just used a 400 block, same pistons etc. and yes the stroke for the 351modified is shorter to get 351. no 400m just a 351 m.

So i was wondering what a truck like that might be worth? i just called a guy today with a 78 bronco with a fresh 400 and some new panels on it and no lift. this guy wanted 9,000 for it.. but was willing to accept 8,000. i live in a pretty rediculous part of the world.. the alberta oilfield.. people have too much money and dont value it up here..

That's funny, my '79 has a 400M. It's the same block as a 351, just a longer stroke. It was an option with the towing package, I believe.

I have a 1981, its a warmed-over 400M, 4-speed stick, rancho 3" lift, Mickey Thompson wheels, and BFG 33x12.5 tires. The home-built exhaust I welded up sounds great, with headers and a single Super 40 muffler, I should load a sound bite of it. These broncos make great trucks, too bad so many of them didn't survive to be classics.

Hi, I was the owner that built your truck, if you need any info on the Bronco send me a email, I did everything to it as you see it.BTW the blue is a 86 IROC blue color that was painted at a shop in BOOTON,NJ.I have some info on the bronco you may wish to have including the wire harness for the upper console and info on body replacement,trans and motor,etc etc.Looking forward to seeing the ride in the fuftre as I live nearby you as well.

is the Motor still weak? they say the 400 came stock with 150hp and hotrodders around call it a smogger because of environmental regulations that came out around that time... low compression i hear... do you have anything in it to boost compression or hp in any way? id love to get more power out of my 78 crew cab f250

not sure if your referring to the 351c as the smog motor but this Bronco came with the 351M, a modified 351. Not sure what the numbers were stock or even what they are now, (bought the truck with motor) but from what we know little of the stock motor is left and no smog/pollution equipment is either.
