There are a lot of very good mezzo sopranos around just now. I particularly like Abrahamyan because of her so rich, so musical voice quality. She did a wonderful job in the Paris production of Julius Caesar in Egypt with Emmanuelle Haim conducting. She sang Pompey's just widowed wife and did a great job of that. I've watched the YT series uploaded by Oedipus Tyrranus 6 or 8 times because Natalie Dessay did such a stupendous job of portraying such a wild, but sympathetic young woman (Cleopatra).
