Hey everyone, it's Radley. Thanks for your questions and comments. This video serves as a promo for the actual John Bonham-style lesson. We made it short so that hopefully someone would go to the site and download the full length video. We couldn't use any actual Led Zeppelin tracks as that would require us to pay royalites, and we're a small company and it's quite expensive to obtain the rights to a privately owned song.
Actually, neither tom has a bottom rim or head. It was inspired by the rock drummers of the 1970's and also from my days as a concert percussionist. Concert toms usually don't use bottom heads, and the result is that the sympathetic ring of the resonant head is removed, and the articulation of the batter head is more pronounced.
