@elshakawey I think only NES games unless you have an adapter (different pin count) but should be fine with pirate or multicarts though I don't have any to test..............
@MaximumRD OMG PLS HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got the fc mobile 2 but I cant get super mario bros/duck hunt to work on it! Most commonly I get a white screen when I turn it on, sometimes a black screen, and sometimes a bunch of collors that i cant even get to work. HELP!
@nmgh101 Well first and foremost make sure your cartridge is clean, meaning the contacts inside (you can GOOGLE Cleaning Nintendo cartridges if you don't know) if your cartridge is fine make sure it's inserted firmly. I have had problems even slight movement games crash or freeze. If problem persist try turning on while holding the cart pushed forward or back BUT MAKE SURE it stays still. Otherwise maybe a faulty unit? Contact your supplier. Is that your only game? Do others work?
@MaximumRD well ive cleaned it to perfection, its deffinatly inserted firmly, i tried leaning it and it didnt work, and im trying to get another game to see. If it doesnt work im not gonna rebuy this system, what do you think of the fc 16 go?
@nmgh101 Honestly, I have only used mine a couple times, now I just use my GP2X Caanoo handheld with all kinds of emulators from NES to Genesis. These are a novelty that quickly wore off for me, build quality is flakey at best, after this and my Retron3 I have really started getting put off by clone hardware, it's all cheaply made, I wont buy any more clones, even emulators do a better job in software then these do in hardware.
@BarbieBoy1997 Not official retail like this more in the modding community like in the BEN HECK forums, talented skilled people who are very good at such things, but that will cost you to have them commissioned to do such a project. Otherwise just better getting something like the GP2X Caanoo or Dingoo handheld and use emulation, and if your thinking well I prefer "real" hardware believe me, emulators to a better job then these clones do emulating the original hardware.
I believe this needs to be thumbed up, because this is a minor issue that some can interpret as a major issue.
When the FC runs low on batteries, it will not play certain games at all, like 'Legacy of the Wizard', 'Blaster Master', or 'Lode Runner'. However, it can play games like 'Astyanax' and 'Bionic Commando' just fine. Some other games might play, but will eventually hang, like 'Fester's Quest'. Didn't know battery power could affect the game loading, etc.
@gusfasa By "PolySation Cartriges" I believe you're referring to pirated Famicom cartridges. If so, then no, not like the way it sits anyway. What you need is a 60 to 72 pin converter, and there are plenty of guides to make one out of a Gyromite or other early NES launch titles.
Hey! I just got 1 of these myself in particular and I was wondering what kind(s) of screwdriver, etc. do I need to open The FC Mobile II System up in order to put the batteries in?! Please and thanks! :)! <3! - Blessings ALL WAYS!
the AA and BB grey buttons arent just replicates - theyre turbo (rapid-firing) mode buttons. try them out in Contra or something like that. turbo buttons FTW.
@jennycorea Not sure it's coming, this is a revision of the original FC Mobile which had reversed button placement and was even cheaper quality..........
@symbiote111 Heh not a priority for me sorry, everything packed away. One thing is certain, it will either work or not Game Genies can not wreck hardware, either it is compatible or not like certain carts but there is nothing dangerous about how the Game Genie works...........
tried it with the game genie today and it worked! :)
...got a question: i got the us-version of the fc mobile 2 and some games work good, but others start glitching sometimes! for example ICE CKIMBER used to work the first fifteen minutes, but after that, it started to freeze again and again...
is the cartridge broken or does anyone know the problem??? :(
@PIXELKITSCH From the few carts I tried I found mostly the cartridge slot to be an issue, basically you do not want to move around too much and try to hold the unit steady in one position. Other than that I could not say.
hm, i think, that was not the problem, it does no matter, if i´m walking around in my flat (why should i, while playing) or just hold the fc mobile steady in an upright position! sometimes the game just frezzes from one second to another...
tried the cartridge on my nes and there is no problem!
during the holiday I am taking time off and enjoying these portable systems....they all seem to work really well...except for the original FC Mobile...
Well I am glad I didn't get the original, I was tempted but didn't like what I was hearing about it. Anyway buddy, have a good holiday and Christmas. All the best!
Of course, and I plan to get one at some point. It will have to wait for some time though, let's just say it's going to be a tough year financially........
Honestly I have not had the time to test fully. Seems decent but as with all such handhelds your experience will vary, I mean I suggest HI CAPACITY rechargables for any electronics. 2500+ MHA for best results................
i like this and stuff and like your reviews but disagree with you its realey cheap plastic case but just the system and remotes cases nor the elictronics inside. you can get the black ststem for under $50 shipped on amazon i meen the price from outpost on amazon is actuley $43 shipped. i cant stand hot cheap the case is so i am bilding my own and the gun is even cheaper so i am porting pats to a nes one.
Yea but I would wait. The RetroGen by Atgames, poor sound and the "built in" games are crap. The Genmobile however will have several built in official SEGA games so wait and compare once that is released...........
AtGames is involved in the GENMobile, so I wouldn't bother with it. There is a very good chance that the GENMobile has the same garbage hardware that's been used by AtGames since the release of their MegaDrive in Asia.
Still, I will compare the two. I saw the review of the RetroGen with the crappy built in games, at least the Genmobile is supposed to come with some actual Sega games. I will check it out to see for myself.
I've not had much experience but again either way I expect the Genmobile to be better but that is based only on previews I have seen. Yes you will be best to just compare..........
I have heard an equal amount of good and bad press for the FC Mobile II. Your review made it more clear in my mind that it is in fact worth a buy. Thanks Rob. Hope to be a fellow FC Mobile II owner in the near future.
Ah OK, good to know. I remember I was considering that one before I even new about this and was put of bad comments like I mentioned in a few forums. Of course people tend to express disappointment more than satisfaction so that could be the case to.
Ah I have just found out, like most any NES compatible an adaptor would be required to play FAMICOM carts. As to whether or not it can play PAL games I am unsure as of yet................
OK, from what I could find, some retailers list it as NTSC only saying that PAL games require a PAL version of the system but I didn't find any other info, not sure if a PAL version has been produced but yeah it's one or the other apparently.....

Looks like an upgrade over the previous incarnation. Still uses batteries though, which automatically turns me off.
Why in this day of modern lithium rechargable, do people still expect us to buy absurdly expensive batteries for a few hours of gameplay.

@Orpheusftw I agree. Though I have not used standard batteries in years, I use Hi capacity rechargeable batteries anyway.
