Iran was once a beautiful country with people that were free. How that has all changed. With mad mullahs and that president dictator (Ahmadinejad) controlling the country, Iran is a very unhappy place. The Rev. Guard actually run the country and are only interested in money and beating people who protest. IRAN IS DOOMED! Allah must be hanging his head in shame and weeping many bitter tears when he sees what this small bunch of heretics is doing to Iran in Allah's name. FREE IRAN NOW!
Any Islamic country is a typical Orwellian state. Its not easy to change the seat of power and the Ayatollahs are just honest to themselves - that they are the government of God and can do no wrong. Now, how can the Iranians can change this line of thinking?...unless of course the Iranians are willing to die to change the regime. But are they willing to liberate themselves from their fanaticism? I guess not.
@philipdcrusader they are arguing about whats wrong with the system which they designed to employ Islamic ideals. They are not arguing about what is Islamic and not Islamic. What the Imam said has nothing to do with Islam but something to do with the system designed to incorporate Islamic ideals in government actions.
You have no idea about a region which is +3000 miles away from you. You never even experienced Islamic values at first place.
@nofreedom4racists I studied Islam and spent years in Arabia. Your Islamic ideals have been part of Islamic govt. laws, be it secular or not. The Iran's Revolutionary Guard is a case in point. Even you change the regime, Islam is an integral part of policy makers. Somehow there is a shade of idealism in ur statement - the islam must be harbinger of good governance and not a tool for suppression. Am I correct?
@philipdcrusader Nice, I was born and lived 15 years of my life in Jeddah, KSA as well. The Iranian government is not a government of God. Its a government that is fundamentally responsible according to the system developed to employ God's laws. The fact whether it does employ or not depends on the honesty, and quality of the government and the regime as time progress. Islam is whatever it teaches and good governance is part of it. Yes, Islam is not a tool for suppression to begin with.
@nofreedom4racists But you have to consider the reality of our world. NO matter how you strive for a better or perfect society, you will find it that there is NONE. Anyhow, Rafsanjani emerges as one of the reformist - a quality I admired in an Islamic setting and when they realized that they were cheated by Nejad and supported by the Ayatollahs, I can surmise that the reformist will not last. You are fighting an unrepentant and violent Ayatollahs.
@philipdcrusader Rafsanjani himseld is an Ayatollah or Hojatelislam, whatever he is a religious clerk and infact is one of the few who are responsible for choosing and overseeing the Supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenie!. He is a reformist but has a very very strong position in the Islamic republic. Its not a fight between Ayatollahs and liberalists the way you think it is. The reformists won't reform the role of Islam in the country. They will reform the economy and foreign policy as they stated.
@philipdcrusader but yes, I agree with you that it is difficult not impossible to have a perfect society when there are people with different ideological views within that society. But in Iran, people share the same ideological views (Islam). Well the protests we saw had no problem with the Islamic system. They just argue that the system was cheated. If different ideological views emerge in Iran (secularism, etc) then we will see things changing..
@nofreedom4racists I may not fully aware of Rafsanjani, Mousavi, et. al. platform of reforms. Should they are fighting for the transparency of the Islamic rule then let us see if the Ayatollahs will respect the voice of the Iranians. Should the reformists become successful, its a starting point to see a model and hopefully a dynamic Islamic rule. Dream is free...and the Iranians can only dream. I dont expect the reformists will succeed...unless the IRG will take the side of the reformists.
