Are the Yoshinkan aikido techniques very different from let's say Christian Tissier's type of aikido? I see different names for aikido, but I've always wondered if the styles were more less different from each other.....
i respect aikido and all that, but i like to imagine its a hidden camera of a guy that fools ppl into shaking hands with him and right then he flips them and laughs..............and they fall for it every time
The first guy in the video said that when you feel the opponents force against your technique, then do your technique, as opposed to giving up at being blocked. But that's not enough to understand that technique, IMO.
The second guy basically said that as opposed to doing the technique with only your hand, it becomes more powerful when you add your own circular movement. And that it should be done instantly, not providing the attacker time to react against your defense.
OKAY for the people who are idiots and can't figure this out. The guy in real life isn't going to roll. okay.. .__.
actually what happens is he lands face first on the cemement.. or scrapes his knee than lands akwardly on the ground. either way.. unless the guy knows how to roll he gets injured.
to the cross with you haschid!!! :) agreed, though I think you only really need one as long as you really do it earnestly and you have a teacher that has done the necessary training (and as the motto from the Royal Marines goes: 99 percent of the people need not apply).
After all all martial arts should teach one thing - attitude - you don't have that all the techniques in the world won't save you.

Maybe people will get me crucified for this, but I think that both together make a killer combination. (I'm not talking about batman and superman)
