Always remember to keep your religion and your faith separate. Religions are made by people and are temporal. truth is eternal. Satan mixes truth with lie. Seek the truth wholeheartedly and without prejudice or emotion, and you will probably find it, in my humble opinion.
@0selfdefense0 thats true but for the most part faith is the foundation for religion and most people that do not have a religion in theyre life probably do not have faith
they have more of a earthh hope that things will in the end work themseleves out
faith on the other hand is more of giving everything over to a higher power and believing that that higher power will take care of your problems and needs

@zackasurusrexx "sighs" "walks away mumbling 'retard' " let me guess... 911 was America's fault too? You know I came to this country thinking us britts were retarded when it came to this kak... I had no idea
I first heard it on Albino Black Sheep too. Then I heard a song on an iPod Nano ad and recognised it as Short Skirt-Long Jacket. Then started listening again. :D
This band gets under your skin. I been hooked on them from youtube and tommorow I an headed to Cincinnati to buy all their cds I can get my hands on. They are in Charlotte at end of month. Austin for new years eve. Peace !
This is my first CAKE song. I heard it when I was really young on albino black sheep .com and thought it was trying to brainwash me. Then, many years later, I heard it in a part from The Legend of Link. I fell in love with the song, then the band. Now I own every album, know all lyric, and am trying to spread the word for all the "savages/barbarians/pagans" who have never met the pleasure that comes from all CAKE music... (sadly my gf still doesn't like them. I'm trying.)
@johnathanclifford124 i disagree i havent listened to this enough to know for sure but what i do know is that its probably not about America sorry to burst ur bubble (even though no one says that anymore)

Thats' because u have to see the movie in a different perspective. U can't simply watch the movie and expect to know what it means. i remeber hearing this song on a zelda fanmade movie and for like 3 or 4 years ive been wondering what this song was but today was the first day i actually looked for it lol
I think this song is about Capitalism. The "he" referred to in the song is your basic American who is trying desperately trying to "keep up with the Jonses" Or the writer was loaded and just made up some funny rhymes!
@HappyMenProduction No, I actually believe this talks about the music industry. IE: "Now his hat is on backwards, He can show you his tattoos, He is in the music business, He is calling you 'DUDE!'". Doesn't that sound like what a rapper looks like? By religion, they have to be referring to a culture from which record companies get consumers/slaves.
@FelipeC19 rappers? rappers don't say "dude". I agree with you, but it's much more likely he's referring to a rock star or even a record producer. If you're gonna bash the music industry you can't blame it all on rappers.
@Willpower665 I'm not bashing rappers, it was just the first impression that I got from the song the first time I was listening to it. And yes, you're right, music industry doesn't only exploits rappers, but also rock and pop stars (Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus are both great examples).
@FelipeC19 oh my god I HATE the jonas bros. If someone would've told me when I was 14 that I needed to go out and buy my girlfriend a ring so we WOULDN'T have sex, I would've told them to get some airholes drilled in their skull. And yet these stupid preteens get duped by the thousands. Stupid.
And talking about music industry's abuse, there's a genre of music that is really popular in Latinamerica called reggeaton. This music suggests that women were born to be men's sex slaves and nothing more, and the worst part is that MOST OF THEIR FOLLOWERS ARE WOMEN! also, you don't dance this music, you FUCK ON THE DANCE FLOOR, and you don't sing it, you HIT A BABY WITH A CAT in order to do the vocals.
I know, its the masses fault. problem is, the masses have decided that they don't need an opinion as long as disney has one for them. Keep in mind, the masses re-elected bush.
umm... "some people drink pepsi, some people drink coke, the wacky morning DJ says democracy's a joke." what does that line mean to you, not what other people think, what you think (but wait, what if you think what other people think?) well.... that's what this song is about >.>, now, if you want to know what i think and if that may be what other people think, you can happily send me a pm just don't make make it too personal because then you can't see what other people think, maybe.
You're the one that likes to post the deep comments on the cake videos I have. Keep up the good work, you give me a bit to think about. And comments like yours are my favorite to read.

"Prolonging The Magic" is one of the best records of the 90s. "Comfort Eagle" is among the best of this decade. Once you call them a "novelty" band, how to say I'm sorry?
