Thank you ladies and gentlemen for flying Budweiser airlines. The weather outside is a baumy 100 degrees. If any of you need to change your shorts we understand. If any of you on board collect aluminum cans, we have many in the cockpit, just knock on the door and we will be glad to give you them. If you happen to look like osama bin laden, we will need to see some I.D. Again thank you for flying Budweiser airlines and have a great day!...Buurrrrrppppp
let me give you a tip. In a 747 with 2 engine failures (especially on the same side) you should use max flap 20, depending how heavy ur aircraft is. The reason is that your flaps are creating a lot more drag on one side than the other, this causes your plane to turn, and with the lack of power from the other 2 engines your aircraft will stall.
Also you were very high, you could have easily preformed a 360 turn to the left and lined up perfectly for the runway at a good altitude
kind of a hack job of a landing. you should keep your engine thrust steady when you lose engines on one side so that your plane does not yaw off to the side each time you make a power change.
What are you talking about? Simple laws of physics. If the thrust is on the outer most part of the wing producing thrust, the plane would drift right.
dude, too steep at the end there. the full back pressure needed was evident of that. IRL you wouldnt have been able to apply that much back pressure due to the extreme forces needed.
horse shit the plane is designed to be controllable by two people at all speeds, that's why it has hydraulics and backup hydraulic pumps for each engine.
How well could the real boeing 747-400 land after losing all of its engines asuming you were well within gliding distance of the runway. I'd imagine with reduced flap landing and higher airspeed it could handle it. they must practice this in the sims often in real life
for me its the 737-800 for european flights and i use the baron 58 for flight training also im working with the a320 to replace the 737-800 and i'm then going to conduct domestic flights in the 737-800
yes, i have. you can look for me on VATSIM as WWA1846. i have flown loads of planes, but my favorites are the 737-800, the king air 300/350, and the cessna caravan; currently i am working with the CRJ-200 doing mainly regional routes.
1-2 are they your outboard engines? If so a 747-400 is fully capable off flying on 2 engines for enough time to land. If 1-2 are your leftside enigines then apply alot of rudder to eqaulise the power lose
you start the apu only if all the engines are out, if there are engines still running then there is no need for the apu to generate power for the plane.
I'm sick of these people saying that this and that is wrong and that he should of done various procedures to mkae a professional landing. Its Flight Simulator for fucks sake leave the poor guy alone, the landing doesnt have to be perfect. In my opinion it was quite good.
i completly agree, people always say crap and never make a video any better they need to make a video and we should all go and tell them what to do next time
When you have 2 engine failures, you should switch off those engines, start the APU and move the throttle sticks of the working engines ONLY! Correct me if im wrong.
ok, james, well i have started somthing and i am making a compleatly new way to fly and a new 747 hand book,it will not go over speed if you are careful, and we don't wait 5 mins later to decent but we stay slightly above the gliderscope so if theres no power wew can still make it to the ground.
when i fluy on all landings i start my decent later so if my engines do go or i louse power it is easyer. and james55k, in reply to you comment using auto pilot will sort of stall the plane and basicly you could land in someones back garden... i might try making a video like that some time but i am best in the 747.
what! firstly, starting your descent later is number 1. not common practice and number 2. it can cause your air craft to overspeed, over run the runway etc. Secondly using auto pilot during approach will not stall the aircraft if you actually know the ins and outs of the 747. If you dont know those things I certanly dont think you are best in the 747
humm.. with only two engines that plane is hard to fly as it is, but only having power on one side of the airplane... thats a bad emergency all right. You did good to control the 747 but in that situation there are loads of things to consider... still it was on the tarmac so well done :) wise up and you can do that 10X as good
You, your badly trimmed aircraft, ur inproper use of procedures, your failure to use any autopilot systems (which would of compensated by using rudder automatically for your lost engines) all annoy me. Otherwise at least you got down ok
Well, i think you made it pretty well for a Boeing 747 with double engine failure, both on same side. The only misstake of yours was the terrible overflare. Els, good.
Good emergency landing. The people who say is bad don't know how difficult is to control the plane in that situation. DutchCommando is allright in his comment.
Try reducing the flaps for landing. With a dual engine failure you cannot make up for the drag full flaps creates. Also, trim the damn aircraft in an engine failure situation. If the engines fail during the final approach and you don't have the time to set up all these things for a proper landing make a go around.
yeah i just wanted to know, im new to the whole IFR thing with the pmdg, how do you find where your going without gps. How you set up on the glass display the little airports and the line guiding you to it!!? haha
why your engines is not open ?

few things to know:
try not to use more than 20 of FLAPS..
use Rudder to make up for the enignes..liek your vedio use rudder to teh left..
don't put put full power overtime on the 2 enignes in one side it will turn your airplane... don't use too much Spoilers and LAND Safely!! :)
