  • @VaultMasterDBT Do you have a promo for ABC Daytime Dilemma contest and closing credits for "General Hospital" from 1985?

  • I did, which was recorded from someone else's now-defunct YouTube video. I may have removed it off my old system, since it's definitely not on my current one. However, this video only had the tail end of the "Dilemma" contest promo.

  • It was such a great time!!!

  • Wow! I was 12 years old the last time I saw this! Just brings me back to my childhood before I had kids. Just wow!

  • God I remeber the Ice Princess storyline.i think it was one of the best storyline of Luke and Laura.God I miss them having good storylines.

  • this was probaly during the 1981 writers strike, unlike other soaps that hired scab writers gloria monty filled the show with the ice princess storyline she created based on a book she was given by a soap opera writer about a snow storm that blankets los angelos,i wonder if this was a abc station that did not carry edge of night so they ran the music themselves like wpvi did in philadelphia

  • KOVR in Sacramento did the same thing: playing their recording of GH's closing instead of merely muting the part about staying tuned for EON..AMC was also seen at an alternate time, and both themes were played at a reduced speed..this same station, airing RH at an alternate time, played the opening with the end credits - resulting in very uneven timing given the various lengths credits ran for each show...

  • @disabled1955 - I think all ABC affils which didn't carry a particular daytime show did the same thing...I have several daytime Family Feud eps from late 1979, recorded off KATU in Portland, OR which also played the theme w/no VO promos at the end.

  • Lol, weather footage provided by WKBW-TV Buffalo.

  • I just had a psychic vibe that either you or AutisticPsycho (if the kid still even posts) were going to be the first to comment on this video. Not only was it right, but so soon!!

Weather footage was used because of Mikkos Cassadine's plot to control Port Charles, as well as nature itself, with a weather machine. It was up to our hero Lucas Lorenzo Spencer to deactivate it using a code he had to crack...it was comprised of two words which gave this story arc its name.

  • I was actually expectiing a response with in either 15 or 115 minutes, LOL, brain power to the MAX. I still find it cool they used lake effect snow stock footage instead of something else like model sets.
