  • Think about this: when someone says that they prayed for god to help them get a raise, or get a new house, or get an A on a test, and then they say that god answered their prayer, they are simultaneously admitting that god saw their raise, their house, their test grade, to be more important than feeding starving children. But, of course, the ignorant will profess: He knows what he's doing.

  • I remember, with complete sincerity, praying to god back in middle school to make pokemon real. Heh. Funny that.

  • ive recently seen all of your videos and i applaud all of your research and time spent on this subject of religion and god, to me you are an inspiration and i fucking love all of your stuff

  • God knows what he is doing. Whatever answer he gives you will make you stronger if you really meant that prayer. This is no reason to leave God. He is there for you if you are there for him.

  • There is a problem with the reference to the article on prayer. If you actually read the research article (not the New York Times summary), it says that 95% of the people in the study thought that they were being prayed for by friends or family. The authors admit that their study is flawed and that it would be unethical to demand that people refuse to let their family pray for them. The research does NOT prove that prayer does not work.

  • How prayer interpreted ''god' answer to their is example of wishful thinking.

  • if the jug of milk goes sour, will it still answer your prayers?

  • One question. If a person really doesn't believe, why are they so interested in planting doubt about God everywhere and criticizing? I tell you, it's the demons who love to hate God and His word, therefore will attempt to plant doubt in people's minds; the devil's lies! It is the father of all lies! So, rebuke all evil inside that is causing you to say all evil things against God and His Holy words. It is the devil causing these wrong actions, because it doesn't want people saved.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 I don't think it's the devil that caused this, I think it's common sense.

  • During the jug of milk speech.... does the song say, "jug of milk... jug jug jug of milk"?

  • THIS WORLD IS EVIL! Turn to Jesus, He will save you!

  • GOD IS AMAZING! HE HEALED MY ANKLES! I used to have the ankles pains since small, i'm much older now, and i was having pains, so i prayed the other day (only recently i've wanted to really put God first and follow Him), and after i prayed, i felt tingly sensation all over my ankles, I knew Holy spirit was working to heal me!!! And now, I AM HEALED! AMEN! PRAISE TO JESUS!!!!! That was a few nights ago, and no pain, thank you my Lord so much!!

  • @ItsSoMe2011

To claim that god takes a personal interest in your affairs is not only delusional, it is selfish to an obscene level.

There are hundreds of thousands of people in the world who are starving to death, who suffer from incurable diseases, who pray far harder than you most likely ever had seconds before they died, and every last one of them has their prayers go unheeded.

Yet here you are, spouting to the world that god healed your _sore ankles_. Shame on you.

  • @ogith So true. And I love the way ItsSoMe2011 seems to have ignored this comment, choosing instead to post 'THIS WORLD IS EVIL! Turn to Jesuse, he will save you!'

Some people can't accept logical arguments. -.-

  • @XdainishX A spiritual sense and understanding going 'beyond' rational thinking of our carnal mind. It is spiritual, therefore the possibilities are endless! God is all powerful, and He can do all things. Nothing is impossible for the Lord (Luke 1:37). This is the truth. It's your carnal mind that is restricting you, and causing you to live your life inside a box. Just believe, and you will see miracles happen!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Why should I believe what it says in Luke 1:37?

  • @ogith "Every last one of them"...yeah right...how obsenely pretentious ogith. Jeremiah had his prayers answered. So did Nate, ET, Musa, Ajack, Hendrix, DT, David, Stephen, and a whole lot of others. Dude man...say things worth saying....

  • @loyell13

You state these names as if they should mean anything to me and that I would know them instantly. Also, I can only assume that all of these people happened to live in the civilized west, enjoyed full medical care on the side, and had enough personal resources to keep themselves fed, clothed, and largely out of the elements during the whole time.

I find it very convenient that people who miraculously recover tend towards living in the (largely) pampered west.

  • Michael Shermer, he's a difficult one for discriminating between when he's white lieing or telling the truth. I'd say any experiment laid out to test 'religious tendents' is going to carry huge biases either one way, or the other. Therefore, I'm not even going to go there.

If you want solid proof of prayer working, check out Alcoholics Anonymous (nonreligious group) and ask them how to get over resentment.

  • @Hibitrit Trading one addiction for another.

  • Christ, in Matthew 6 (GNT):

Your Father already knows what you need before you ask him.

This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven: May your holy name be honored; may your Kingdom come; may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need. Forgive us the wrongs we have done, as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us. Do not bring us to hard testing, but keep us safe from the Evil One.

  • So, then, what is the purpose of prayer according to the Bible? To get what we want, or what we think we need? Is the purpose of Christianity to obtain what WE think we want or need?

  • @mattersmail The purpose is to accept Jesus as our Saviour, then to follow in His footsteps (being Holy) with the help from Holy Spirit (our guide on earth which leads to spiritual understanding). This world is full of nonsense, the only thing that makes sense is Jesus and the Holy Bible. Jesus WILL set you free. Believe, and see miracles happen.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 I think the purpose of prayer is to align ourselves with God's will, both initially (as you mention), and in an ongoing manner. It's to see His kingdom come alive in our own lives, not to get what we think WE want or need. This video misses the mark because God is not a milkjug - He knows what we need (even if we don't WANT what we need). Notice the focus in the Lord's prayer - GOD's kingdom come, GOD's will be done. (Not what WE think should be done)

  • As a Christian, I understand the futility of intercessory prayer. God isn't some magical genie, granting wishes, He knows we're smarter than that. I see prayer as simply making contact with God, just keeping in touch, like talking to a friend or calling your parents over the phone so we don't lose our faith in Him. Hope this helps in someone's intellectual journey. :)

  • @cakeliar1 Why does he require faith? Seems like we are the children desperately wanting to meet our father but he is a dead beat dad. Oh and even if we meet if we don't pick him out of a crowd of 30 thousand other men who say that they are our father he going to shoot us in the face. Also we cant just pick him to be safe because the other men make the same threat. Also we don't know which one actually has a gun or whether any of them do. See the problem. -_-

  • Remember, the devil can imitate anything, and trick people (deceive), it may be through the media, etc. The devil hates Jesus, and it will attempt to make weak people also feel this way towards God. We just have to find the right religion, because there is only ONE true one anyway. The devil loves to confuse people, so it will do anything in it's power to turn people away from our true Lord, Jesus Christ. He is our saviour! the devil has control over the earth, only temporally, to test us all

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Ohh the devil, how scary

  • I can tell you this. Many false religions may sound 'convincing', because the devil is cunning, and it can tempt a person into a wrong 'religion'. If a person is 'miserable' in a particular religion, than it is false, or they are not following the scripture correctly. Now I believe, from my experience, that 'Christianity' is the only right scripture. This is because, so many people have found peace in Christianity and have been miserable in others. It just makes sense and feels right! ;')

  • @ItsSoMe2011 there are miserable Christan that follow scripture correctly, and there are people that have found misery in Christianity and peace in other religions, and it makes sense and feels right to them, does that mean Christianity is wrong and they are right?

  • @Tekeydieb It means they aren't following what God wants them to follow. They are following their own 'emotions'. Emotions can be illogical, and can confuse everything! God doesn't want people to do this, instead, for them to use their 'logic', and not to let emotions conflict. But, for many, this is hard. No one said it was an easy thing, being a person of God. It is extremely hard! 'The narrow road', not the wide road...

  • @ItsSoMe2011 there are people that follow Gods laws instead of their emotions & are still miserable. Most christans say that God communicates through 'feelings' whether it be joy, guilt, calmness, peace, sadness, etc. If God wanted people to use logic then why does he say obey without question or order murder and rape and support so many contradicting acts? i don't mean to be aggressive or spiteful, but saying He want us to use logic conflicts with the motif he creates in the Bible

  • @Tekeydieb God has never said for a person to do such acts. God Himself, has the right to punish when needed, for righteousness sake. We don't have the right to judge, or punish anyone! “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” The people who aren't following this, are NOT following God's law correctly. We can't let negative emotions conflict, with our logic in doing what's 'right' and 'good'. For example, if a person slapped you, your emotions will say 'slap back'. That's wrong!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 i can understand not acting on emotions alone, but letting murderers and rapist continue to do what they want to do because we have no right to do anything, that to far. the bible is so back and forth about what it supports, any eye for and eye and turn the other cheek, not to clear about that. so do we just do nothing and god takes care of everything? or just chose the one we like better?

  • @Tekeydieb Don't you think people who do these bad things will have enough on their plate to think about in eternity in hell; then us always judging them on earth? We have no right to judge! It isn't our place. We need to look more at the New Tesiment, when Jesus sacrificed for us. He speaks Himself, and tells us with His words, what to do and not what to do (red writing highlights in my Bible). ;') Hope this helps.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 a lot of people dont believe in the god you worship though, theres no legitimate reason to believe in the hell the god you worship created. Even if we dont have the right to judge, should we let them continue to murder and rape?

  • @Tekeydieb God will judge.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 define god. witch one are you referring to, Zeus, Hermes, Odin, Thor, yhwh, Allah, Ba'al, Anubis, Isis, Apophis, or thousands of others?

  • Jesus can be called several names in different languages, it's still God! God will know our hearts, if we are praying to one God, Him. It's about 'what' you pray for, and if you follow the Bible, His commandments, His words. And recognise, Jesus is our saviour, no one gets to the Father except through Him (Holy Trinity). That's why, it's so important, when you pray, to say 'in Jesus name' after your prayer. I know false religions can pray to false gods, but Jesus won't answer them.

  • You are missing the whole idea of what prayer is. It is not just a list of requests to God it is much more than that. Read the Lords Prayer and you will see the most extraneous supplication made is for "daily bread" (only the things necessary for life). Prayer is about praise, asking for forgiveness, understanding of God's will, and guidance. I believe your loss of faith is rooted in a misunderstanding of what prayer really is. Lewis says it best: it is for your sake and not God's

  • @uofm4ever1 In this video, he is describing his move from using prayer as a way to get "to-do" lists to God to using it as a medium to determine God's will. This is born partially out of his view that "God already knows" hence prayer is not needed for His sake but for the one praying. It looks like you and the poster are on the same page.

  • "I pray because I can't help myself. I pray because I am helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time- waking and sleeping. It doesn't change God it changes me." - C S Lewis

  • This world is so deceitful. The atheists, they are tools for the devil to work with - it plays with their minds. As you get conditioned to the world, you start to 'believe' these ways are the only way to be, as society accepts evil/bad behaviour. The problem is, it's all a trick. A way for the devil to use us, and demons can enter people, causes them to swear, speak unnaturally...and become monsters! But, people need to fight this behaviour! Not go along with it!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 "the problem is, it's all a trick" Fantastic, if it's a trick, then the truth should be easy to demonstrate using evidence. Yet for some reason you stick your fingers in our ears and say, "No! Stop asking fr evidence! Just believe! Stop trying to think! It's the devil!"

I'm sorry, but when I learn about the world, and it becomes demonstrable fact that empirical thought is currently the most reliable way to evaluate the universe, your assertion of faith pales in comparison.

  • @BigLundi I never said stop trying to think. I WANT YOU TO THINK! You can't prove when gravity came into existence, but it does exist (plus you can't see it). You know in your heart, there are things in this world we can't see but exist. Everyone has their own individual relationship with God, so everyone's experience is different. God knows our hearts. I can't physically show you to your naked eyes, because it is Divine Power (force). Don't twist my words to suit you, please.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 "You can't prove when gravity came into existence "I can give an evidence based assessment that the most probable origin of gravity lies in the origin of matter, since all matter is a distortion of space and time that causes this thing we call 'gravity'. Also, I can see gravity manifest, and so can you, so yes. I can prove it exists empirically. Easily too. There are plenty of things I can't see and accept exist, but I can still provide empirical evidence for them.

  • @BigLundi No. What you just said 'the most probable'. It is all based on theory, but not truth. There is a difference. I am not saying gravity is a lie, of course not! But, there is more to this world than 'theories' we learn from men. We need to have our hearts open to receive Jesus, and not to be ready to doubt everything! Otherwise, there is no point of even searching for the answers, because you think you have them all already! People don't!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 The only difference betwen theory and truth is that theories explain truths. That's it.

I've opened my mind to the possibility of Jesus' existence and divinity, but so far it's a completely undemonstrated claim. iterally, I have no reason to accept that it's true, and MANY reasons to accept that it's not true. Jesus is also a theory, just like all other religions out there.

  • the only thing that is 'crazy', is the close minded atheists, sorry to say. But, they only believe in what they think is 'rational', and that rationality is set by 'scientists'. Facts are not truth. The facts are based on what they CAN materially prove, and the forces, well...they can't. They make theories, but is that 'truth'? No. You have to stop thinking the only thing that exists is material only! YOU ARE WRONG!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Provide me evidence to believe in something beyond material and I will, until then, you're not only the wrong one, but the close minded one. :)

  • @BigLundi See, proof proof proof, that's all you ask for. You don't put your faith to the test, have you ever searched for God's power in your life? You CAN'T always prove everything, even in the world, when you know it exists. We weren't there when the Bible was written, but the words in the Bible are so incredibly wise...no man could ever had wrote it without Divine guidance. It's the 'truth'. When you read, you will see. But be open minded to it, otherwise, there's no point!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 "but the words in the Bible are so incredibly wise" Have you bothered to read the bible? These people thought you could cure leprocy by killing two birds. Hell, Jesus, YOUR OWN GOD, says that Christians are immune from poison. It's the writings of uneducated desert dwellers. Typical christian. Liking the good parts and ignoring the parts that are embarrasing.

  • @MrJmm999 The thing is, you haven't read the Bible, so you are making assumptions, and without realising (or who knows if you are intentionally) lying! Of course, Jesus can cure people, as His works in this world, He also shows us through miracles. But, you have to be open minded to know that, and stop doubting every time anyone mentions about these things! If you are willing to fight sin, you must call to Jesus and follow Him. Otherwise, carry on living your sinful life...just don't mock!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 No..YOUR problem is that i HAVE read the bible and you apparently haven't. Jesus...your god said christians will be immune from poison. Mark 16:17. READ YOUR BIBLE. You claim prayer works. So does the Muslim..and the Jew..and the Skh and the Hindu. Ever study conducted testing if prayer works has been an utter failure for believers. You claim your god performs miracles. So do the believers of every other religion. Yes..i will mock you until you provide evidence

  • @MrJmm999 It's more to it then reading it, you have to understand it too. If you seek the Lord, you will find out the answers. If you are constantly trying to find excuses, then a person can't be saved. You just can't question everything and say it's wrong all the time! If you know in your heart, what you are hearing is 'the right way to be', would you deny it? Like, forgiving one another...for e.g.?

  • @ItsSoMe2011 I understand your bible. It was a compilation of myths written generations or centuries after the events took place. I can and do question everything until it can be demonstrated to me. Can you show me that YOUR god exists other than making the bold assertion that prayers work. They don't. Any study of prayer shows tha prayer has the same exact effect of doing nothing. The muslim claims prayers to HIS god works too. Demonstrate that prayer works.

  • @MrJmm999 Please, stop mocking the Bible. Don't mock, because you don't understand.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 No..i mock i because i DO INDEED understand it. It's a joke. Your faith is a joke. Your god is a joke. He's so absurd that he is an embarrasment to people who don't even believe in him. It's embarrasing that people like you still believe such fantasies. Is your god so powerless that he allows me to mock him so? If he exists...why not smite me and punish me for trying to deconvert believers. (Now it's your turn to pretend like he's going to sent me to hell)

  • @MrJmm999 No, you don't understand. You are being ignorant to the miracles that do happen, to the people who HAVE very much experienced God working in their lives. If you are going to be cynical, there is no point even continuing this conversation with you.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 AGAIN...i DO understand. These miracles cannot be verified in any way. Yes..i'm cynical about people who are so credulous about their own beliefs...but dismiss the same exact claims made by other faiths. Are you considering becoming a Muslim after hearing testimony from a Muslim that Allah healed his cancer? Seriously....would that persuade you to become a Muslim? Of course not...because we know that things like cancer have natural remission rates.

  • @MrJmm999 The deaf and blind too? I thought not. God has healed many people with 'incurable' diseases, and the deaf and blind. You are not understanding what I am saying!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Please provide evidence that YOUR god healed the blind and the deaf. This should be fun. (Now...go direct me to your christian website....that provides NO scientific evidence that this happened) I think if you actually read about these "miracles"...they happen quite often...and have naturalistic explanations) But feel free...show me documented evidence of your god healing the blind/deaf. (Now..if i show U a Muslim that was "cured" by allah..will u convert?)

  • @ItsSoMe2011 It must be hard being so unable to defend your position that you can't take a little mockery. (Your god seems to take it just fine) You end the conversation because i mock your position? Why not provide the EVIDENCE i have been asking for and shut me up?

  • @MrJmm999 I just don't think it's nice. Be nice when you make your points, you know? It's hurtful. I love Jesus.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Understand that not everyone is good at patiently arguing their point. Sometimes it can get frustrating when you see things one way and are unable to get people to see your side :) From reading him, it doesn't seem like he's deliberately trying to be spiteful, but he just is having trouble conveying & getting you to understand him.

  • @BoxxyBrassin I suppose we have different viewpoints. But sometimes It hurts a lot when some people say really mean things about Jesus. I can't force anyone to believe, or turn to Jesus. And I won't force, I can only guide ;') God bless all of you..have a beautiful Christmas

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Thanks, you too. Enjoy the holidays.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 You know what's "not nice". Someone who is CONSTANTLY telling the other person.."no..you just don't understand." You don't get it. I understand....i don't AGREE. You continually claiming..."you just don't understand" (when I clearly do understand) is demeaning. I understand fine. Your problem is that i don't AGREE. And what is the best way to prove you are right when 2 parties don't agree??? EVIDENCE.

  • @MrJmm999 You can't always provide material evidence, especially when it is spiritual, lol. You have to 'experience'. A series of events, let's say. Sometimes, yes, you can 'physically' prove that God has performed a miracle on a person, for e.g. when God has healed the blind/deaf, terminal cancer, etc....A person can have a Divine Intervention in their lives, but you HAVE to turn to Him first. Otherwise, He can't work in your life. It's your choice to make! Do you like sinning?

  • @ItsSoMe2011 No...you can provide evidence if there were actually miracles. You talk about god healing the deaf/blind. Strange that Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus etc, all appear to be healed at the same exact rate. It's almost like this god doesn't exist huh? You speak as if you KNOW these things and you have no clue what you are talking about. Again, are you about to become Muslim after a Muslim tells you he has seen Allah perform Miracles. (3rd time i've asked this)

  • @ItsSoMe2011 LOL...do I enjoy sinning? Please provide evidence for this god that i'm offending by doing things you THINK are sins. You act as if you have some special knowledge about what your god wants and what he doesn't want. Now...if you are asking if i like fucking....i fucking LOVE it. Can't do it enough. Ps.beliefs are NOT a choice. Can you really CHOOSE to believe things? No..our beliefs are based on evidence..unless we let our emotions determine what we believe (god)

  • @MrJmm999 You know what is sin and what's not. You have that knowledge from the day you were born. There is no denying it, your conscious remains. Sin is when you do something 'wrong', for example killing another person, is a sin. If this world has taught you it ISN'T a sin, then this world is a 'lie'. Jesus reminds us, of the things we should already know, what to do, what not to do. It's guidance, and there is nothing wrong about that.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 "this world is a lie?" WTF? Who taught you to talk like this? U claim that this god old everyone what was and wasn't a sin on the day they were born. However, nobody seems to agree on what is and is not good or bad. I don't think aborting a fetus is wrong..you probably do. I don't think premarital sex is wrong..you probabably do. So, we have a disagreement about what is wrong. YOu claim Ur god told myheart. I claim he didn't. How do we resolve this? EVIDENCE

  • @MrJmm999 You have misunderstood what I meant. I meant, this world is deceitful, should have put it in those words, because it is very deceitful. The devil is a liar, and it works in the world, to tempt, destroy, and take people's souls, so they are left feeling empty, thinking there is no meaning to this life we are given. You have to understand all aspects, not just what the 'media' tells you. Don't you know the media is a tool for all sorts of decietful stories, lies?, etc...

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Again, please provide evidence that this devil Uspeak of exists. What does he look like? Describe him. Show me where i can find him. It must be SOO easy being a christian. U just pull this stuff out of your ass without offering a shred of proof.

Answer this question: How do i distinguish U from the crazy man locked up in the insane asylum that thinks he is talking to Elvis. U both are SURE you are talking to someone who exists. How do i distinguish you from him?

  • @MrJmm999 I think it's SO easy being an atheist, that means you can dismiss WHATEVER YOU FEEL LIKE! You have to take into account, all the things that happen in this world, that cannot be explained with science, for example, material proof. For example, seeing spirits, or when Jesus heals when you've PRAYED for it. These things HAVE happened, and if you don't wan't to believe, then your choosing not to!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Lol...i dismiss the same EXACT evidence U dismiss EVERY day of UR life. For "evidence" for your god you have given me 2 things: Miracles and "god created everything". EVERY other religion claims their god performs miracles and created everything. U dismiss those absurd claims if they come from ANY other religion other than yours. 6th time i'm asking. Do U not see how inconsistant U are being? Please answer why U think it's "proof" for ur god..but no one elses god.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 WOW: So..anything we don't currently understand..you want to label that "god dun it." Outstanding...we used to think that zeus was responsible for lightning and thor was responsible for thunder before we understood the natural explanations for these phenomenon. The supernatual explanation for natural phenomenon has a 0% success rate throughout history. Name ONE time a supernatural explanation has turned out to be verified as correct. Go ahead..feel free.

  • @MrJmm999 Yes, Because He has been given the name 'God', so we can identify with His name. It's your choice, like I said, to believe or not.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 "Because he has been given the name "allah" so we can indentify with his name. It's your choice, like i said, to believe or not."

Again, explain why you dismiss the SAME EXACT thinks you claim provide evidence for your god...when someone else claims they provide evidence for their god. SEVENTH time i have asked this. Seriously, it's like arguing with a child. I'm not joking. How old are you? (Serious question. How old are you?)

  • There is spiritual forces in this world, whether you can accept it or not. It's just your way of 'escaping' the truth.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Ahhhh typical Christian response. Assert as true what you have been absolutely unable to provide evidence for. You simply asserting that "there are spiritual forces" means nothing unless you can demonstrate them. Ps...."things we don't understand does NOT mean it's a spiritual force...it simply means we don't understand. You would prefer to answer with a "god dun it" when we don't understand something. Smart people prefer to admit we don't understand..& investigate

  • @MrJmm999 I know what you are trying to say...you don't believe it's "God", and think it's just co-incidence as so on. Well, when you read the Bible, you will understand more and more. The words Jesus says are so correct, and not only that, when you pray to Jesus, He will answer your prayer! If you pray to 'nothing', nothing will happen. You must have a relationship with Him first - get to know Him, do good, love Him and others. It's all about having faith!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 You appear to be someone who has not thought WHY you believe through. For nearly a week you have tried and tried to show any sort of evidence for your god. (My guess is that you don't have a clue why you believe in YOUR god). You have mentioned "miracles" and "creation of everything". When I point out every religion's followers claim THEIR god does the same EXACT thing...you now move on to "faith". (Belief without evidence). Now, if you want to believe.........

  • @ItsSoMe2011 ....something without evidence, feel free. However, don't go around acting like you KNOW the truth and can demonstrate it. You can't. Faith is belief without evidence. In my book, if you can't demonstrate something exists, you shouldn't believe it. I don't believe your god exists for the SAME EXACT reason you don't think Allah, or Thor, or Zeus exists. What Jesus says is so correct? (Really, Christians are immune from poison? He said it...are you immune?

  • @MrJmm999 Why do you keep saying there is no evidence? You choose to believe there isn't! Of course, miracles happen, and this world has been 'created', which is evidence enough to say there is a God anyway! You must be delusional to think this world was created by 'nothing', and just appeared lol I mean really, there is no logic in that itself...

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Why do i keep saying there is no evidence? For the SAME EXACT reason you say there is no evidence that Allah/Zeus/etc. created everything and performs miracles. AGAIN...why do you refuse to accept these god's "miracles" and then turn around and expect me to accept YOUR god's "miracles". YOu have provided NO evidence that your god performs miracles or created the universe. You have merely asserted it.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Do you know ANYTHING about big bang cosmology? Scientists are currently working on how matter is make and will probably find what has been called the Higgs Boson particle within a month. Additionally, are you aware that matter and energy are the same thing? There isn't a scientist in the world that says "the world was created by nothing" You should be ashamed of yourself. You are forced to lie about what science says in order to defeat a scientific argument. Shame.

  • @MrJmm999 That's not a debate, if your saying i should be ashamed of myself, i have nothing to be ashamed of. Stop intimidating, I know that's what you atheists do best. I am trying to understand your side, but really, your only giving me half a story, and a 'theory' at that! You only learn what you know from 'man'. that doesn't make it correct, you know. You have to look at everything in perspective.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 "I am trying to understand your side"

Absolute Bullshit. You are trying to preach to me. You have not considered ONE thing I have said to you. I could care less that you don't...however, don't fucking sit there and now claim you are "trying to understand my slide." You are absolutely NOT trying to understand my side. You are preaching AT me. That's fine...but don't pretend you are listening to a damn think i have said. To say that is an outright lie & U know it

  • @MrJmm999 And your preaching to me about God not existing, which is complete rubbish. It's something you 'assume'. It can't be proved....stop being bias.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 I have tried to get you to explain your rantings. You have failed miserably at demonstrating any evidence for your god. "Oh...miracles and look at everything around us". It's laughable. Science has a perfectly rational explanation for how our universe came to be. You want to believe bronze age myths.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 For the SEVENTH time, I would like you to answer this question: Why do you expect me to accept "miracles" and "creation" as evidence of your god when you yourself refuse to accept the "miracle" and "creation" claims of EVERY OTHER RELIGION? This is called special pleading. You are applying one set of rules to YOUR god...and then another set of rules for everyone elses. This is illogical. Why do you do this? (this is the 7th time i have asked this)

  • @MrJmm999 Ok. It IS logical to believe there is a 'creator', because this world has been made. No one can deny it! You can't make up theories about a 'big bang', where did that come from?? Obviously, something had to have made that happen in the first place, if it is true. I know anyway there is a God, because so many experiences I have had, it's impossible to say there is no God.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 You are using the word "created" to imply a meaningful creator. Yes..the universe was formed into its current state through natual processes that are easily understood by an 8th grade student. Using your definition of "creation"...snow is "created"..rain is "created"...however, there is a natural explanation for these "creations"....same for the universe.

Whare are these personal experiences you have had that allow you to KNOW your god exists? (Same ones Muslims have)

  • @MrJmm999 But you have no proof He doesn't exist!...You should call yourselves 'agnostic', because you really don't know. Saying that He doesn't exist, would only be based on opinion, and lack of knowledge to the fact, that 'you don't know'. And I believe you think this, because you have never 'searched' for Him..but when you do, you will 'know' He exists! God is God, if someone prays for good, it will be answered by God. If we do bad things, then we aren't following God. It's simple!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 LOL...nice trying to shift the burden of proof. YOU claim this god exists...YOU have the burden of proof. I am agnostic.....i'm an agonstic atheist...like 99.999% of all atheists. However, i'm not agnostic regarding the Christian concept of god. I know this god does not exist. (Look up Divine hiddenness). Your claiming that i should call myself an agnostic shows supreme ignorance of what an atheist is. It's about belief. I suggest you educate yourself first

  • @MrJmm999 Lol. You can't be an agnostic atheist, you donought.

  • @MrJmm999 cont from 1. I am an agnostic because there are literally MILLIONS of definitions of what "god" is. Each religion claims their god is right. Then there are pantheists...and deists. These defintions of god are so vague...we can never investigate. (However, i do for all practical purposes KNOW that your god does not exist). But i don't think we will ever be able to KNOW if any form of god exists. (cont2)

  • @ItsSoMe2011 (cont from 2). Now, theism is about belief...NOT knowledge. An atheist doesn't BELIEVE in a god. I don't know that NO god exists (however i do know the general Xtian concept of god does not exist)...but i don't believe in ANY god. Do you "KNOW" unicorns don't exist. I sure don't but i don't believe they exist. THIS is why i'm convinced you are a child. You know nothing about a subject you are speaking about. Theism/Gnosticism are TWO separate issues.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Seriously...how old are you? You sound like a child.."if we pray for good things they will happen?" I want you to pray for an amputee to grow a limb back. Why does god hate amputees? NEVER has he grown an amputees limb back. Why is that? Why don't you pray to your god for him to do this and let's see how god answers.

  • @MrJmm999 That's not being childish, where did you get that from? He's not going to answer you if you pray for something out of righteousness, obviously. That's a thing called 'intelligence', in not any way am I being childish. You love to intimidate, to cover up for your silly answers. I happen to think the way you are answering me is childish. You have no claims of God not existing, you only believe in the material, and I think that is very very immature.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 "He's not going to answer you if you pray for something out of righteousness" Where did i tell you to pray out of righteousness? I said to pray for an amputee to grow a limb back. Surely your god can do that. So pray for it. YOu said yourself it you were asking for something good...your god would grant your prayer. So, why don't you pray for that. (Answer: Deep down you KNOW nothing will happen)

  • @MrJmm999 Nothing is impossible for God. (Luke 1:37 )

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Still haven't answered how old you are. (Please, don't lie)

  • @MrJmm999 What?? Why would I lie? And why do you ask? I'm in my 20s if you must know. Does it matter??

  • @ItsSoMe2011 It matters because i'm trying to figure out why someone who is so passionate about trying to convert atheists has no clue what an atheist is. My only explanation is that you are simply dishonest and know what you are saying regarding atheism and agnosticism is untrue....or you have never been exposed to anyone outside your circle of christian friends. Being young would explain why you haven't been exposed to much. Apparently you haven't been

  • @MrJmm999 Do you want me to answer what I believe? Many false religions say they are praying to the right God...if they are praying for 'good', then it will be to God Himself (there's only one God). If a person prays, and it happens to be 'bad', the devil will take it from there. Yes, the devil has power too, and can answer someone. But, the devil will be after something in return (usually soul). We just have to be wise, because there is such thing as karma too.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 LOL..now you believe in Karma? For fuck's sake...it's amazing you have not been swindled out of every dime you have. You believe ANYTHING....as long as it fits in your little worldview. You keep praying to your invisible sky wizard to make it all better....the rest of us will use logic and reason (these are the things that makes you able to use your computer and heals you when you are sick. Don't pretend you don't run to the doctor when you are sick

  • @ItsSoMe2011 You do realize that Karma is a hindu and budhist concept..right? When did you convert?

  • @ItsSoMe2011 To show U how absolutely absurd it is to think U can choose what U believe in..I want U to "choose" to believe the earth is sitting on the back of a giant invisible turtle. I want U to choose to believe that the sun will rise in the west tomorrow. (I'm not talking about pretending U believe or saying U believe...I mean REALLY believe.) U can't do it because U have no EVIDENCE these things are true and U aren't emotionally tied up in believing them.(Like u are w/ ur god

  • @MrJmm999 You see all the beautiful things God has made, don't you? The whole world! The sky, the water, the moon and sun, the clouds etc...there is nothing stopping you from believing, only your 'mind', your thoughts. A person can think up a thousand theories, and still be wrong. We just have to search for what is 'right', the truth. When you search for God, you will understand, and then you will 'know'. ;') Ask Jesus to guide you to the truth! God bless you.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 No.i see NOTHING this god has made and neither have you. You look around and you see trees that were produced from natural occurances. You see animals that were born from natural occurances. But you know what we have NEVER seen?....a universe creator that poofs things out of nothing ex nihilo. Yes..we can think up "theories"..however, you apparently don't realize that before it becomes an actual theory,..it has to be tested..observed. Can we do that with your god?

  • @ItsSoMe2011 "there is nothing stopping you from believing, only your 'mind', your thoughts"

Yes..my mind makes it impossible to believe in this sky wizard you call God. My mind requires EVIDENCE before it believes something. So does yours..until U start thinking about god. Then U throw away your normal requirement that evidence exists before U believe something. You have been asked this time and time again. You claim miracles & when I shoot that down..you move to "everythign"

  • @MrJmm999 You don't always need material proof to reveal the truth, especially if it's spiritual. Your evidence remains within your experience, say a series of events taking place in your life. And atheists deny the actual 'proof' they do get, like Jesus healing many sick people, e.g. deaf and blind. You only hear what you ant! And dismiss the proof given to you!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 A muslim just told me that I should worship Allah because he says Allah heals the sick. Why should I believe you and not him.? You REFUSE to answer this and it's now the 4th time I have asked it. Why are you so unimpressed when Mormans, Muslims, Shiks, Hindus etc. ALL claim that their god healed the sick and performed miracles? YOU dismiss the same exact "proof" that i dismiss...however, you make a special exception for your particular god. Why do you do that?

  • @MrJmm999 God gave us free will, we choose if we want to believe in what makes sense or not. Anyway, this world has been created as your evidence you have no excuse! Of course, a 'creator', created the world, it only makes sense...you just don't want to believe without seeing, that's all. But how many forces can you actually see, that actually DO exist? NONE! Stop asking for this kind of proof, there is much proof you can get by actually putting your faith to the test, without doubting.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 "Anyway, this world has been created as your evidence you have no excuse!" We disagree about this. Please provide proof that your god created this world. The majority of scientists agree that this world was formed through gravity collecting material out of an exploded star. (Hell...all scientists)

  • @ItsSoMe2011 YOu also failed to acknowledge what I told you days ago. I would accept things other than physical proof of your god. I would accept plenty of "evidence' including circumstantial evidence. For example, if Christians who were prayed for were healed from disease at a higher rate than those not prayed for. Or if Christians were less effected when a natural disaster struck than everyone else. Or I would accept if Christians were immune from poison..WHICH JESUS CLAIMS

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Google Islamic/Muslim Miracles. You will see testimonials of hundred/thousands of Muslims claiming Allah cured them of.....whatever. Ask yourself...why am i not impressed with these alleged miracles and why don't I convert to Islam? On a daily basis you ignore the alleged miracles of Muslims/Hindu/Buddhist etc.. If you think I should be impressed with the claims of YOUR gods alleged miracles...why are you not impressed with these alleged miracles of other faiths?

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Have I ever searched for god's power in my life? You bet your bottom I did. I was a christian for 15 years before I simply could not bring myself to believe the self contradictory logically impossible notion of Yahweh.

There is NOTHING in the universe, NOTHING at all, that has a good reason to believe in, that doesn't have proof to back it up. Nothing at all.

The words in the bible are not wise. I know, I've read 3 versions. I open mindedly evaluated the bible, it's wrong. :)

  • @BigLundi If there is any kind of doubt, then there is no point in looking for Him! You have to know He is there and it shouldn't be hard , since He made the whole world for all to see! We can't be fooled in believing 'only' what scientists tell us. There is a whole other world of what the actual truth is, but people are putting themselves in a small box, by only believing the media etc... We have to understand, there is more to this world than the 'physical' and material.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 I don't believe 'only' what scientists tell me. That's where my Skepticism part of my ideology comes in. IF there's another world of truth, then you need to be able to demonstrate this. So far you've simply said that I need to "just believe" it.

Let me ask you, if I said, "In order to realize your god doesn't exist, you must first assume he doesn't exist" would you buy that? Of course not. That's silly. So why would you try the same on me?

  • @BigLundi See, many others would prove you wrong on that point. There has been so many miracles, that happen every time they pray. Mostly, because their faith has saved them, and God has seen their potential to 'open their hearts'. A person will get no where, if they already think they have nothing to change about themselves (sin) and think we know it all. We don't, to be honest. We need Jesus, to guide us to the 'right' road, not the wide road which leads to destruction, but the narrow.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Can you point me to a single miracle? Any documented truly miraculous event that cannot be explained naturalistically?

If not, then this point about miracles is irrelevant, as you can't show that it's in any way valid.

  • @BigLundi Jesus healing the blind and deaf? And don't try to tell me 'they were all lying', because this is real. Not just curing the sick, but also through 'circumstance' (therefore I can't materially prove to you, since it is through a series of evens in life, something that goes beyond 'co-incidence'). Something you have prayed for, and precisely will be answered by God, even straight away if your faith is strong! ;') It's happened so many times to me too, I know my Jesus is alive!

  • @ItsSoMe2011 If you know something, you can demonstrate it. Unfortunately, you cant. As far as Jesus committing miracles, none of that is documented by any contemporary accounts. the earliest accounts we have about the life of Jesus are half a century after the fact. I need something documented, something verifiable, not hearsay anecdotal purely subjective accounts.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 anyone can write a "holy book" as long as you have some good writing skills, how do you know the bible is correct? because it is the word of god? well how do you know that it's the word of god? because the bible tells you so? this is called circular logic. Also I have read some of the bible and plan to read the whole thing, and I still don't believe it, also if I told you I had a pet unicorn, you wouldn't just take my word for it, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence"

  • @skeetaseals999 No, but the words are too wise, it speaks truth. There are many predictions in the Bible, that are coming true now. I do believe, there are false religions, to confuse people (devil's work, to turn people away from the real word of God), but if what we are reading is 'right', then it can't be wrong. I understand where you are coming from though. You can't always have the proof, because God won't be tested if we only care about our own satisfaction of just proving...

  • @ItsSoMe2011 can you give me some examples of these predictions? Also, if a god was real and omnipotent, then he could give me clear evidence of his existence, which has yet to happen. By the Christian god's very definition, he is unprovable through scientific means. By the way, I was raised a very devout Catholic, and am still being raised that way, but I plan to let others know of my Atheism soon after Christmas. If you wish you may e-mail me at skeetdill123@gmail .com to make this easier.

  • @skeetaseals999 I am going to be honest with you. I won't have all the answers, I am not God. I can try to guide you down the right road. When a person is living 'easy', then they will be living in sin. The wide road, in other words. This world (society in general), allows sin to take control of their lives. The whole point, is to fight against sin, which is what Jesus wants us to do. By seeking our Lord, we can find help! This world has nothing good to offer, in terms of morality...

  • @ItsSoMe2011 I am happy your heart is already open to receive Him, but you have to 'seek' Him. And sadly, not all churches will be doing it correctly. If you feel miserable in religion, then it's wrong. We must understand, the basic laws of what Jesus tells us. Let's start with the 10 commandments...;')

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Morality does not come straight from religion, religion just teaches morality to those who follow that religion, I live a very moral life, I just don't happen to subscribe to a religion whilst doing so. If the Christian god does exist and I go to Hell for not believing but still living a morally correct life, then how is that justice? How is making someone suffer for eternity because of the small amount of evil they did just? please e-mail me instead of replying by comment.

  • @skeetaseals999 It takes more than 'thinking' to be living a moral life, and actually doing it. Without Jesus' guidance, we can't live a moral life. It isn't taught in this world, and never has been. All the morals that people do follow, they have received from God's words. Message me on here if you like (Youtube) God bless you. Don't turn away from Jesus, He loves you. But you need to help yourself, before He can help you.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 You people pretend like you KNOW things that you have no clue about. You pretend you KNOW there is more than the material universe. We are obviously not in agreement regarding there being more than the material universe. So, what is the best way for you to show me there IS indeed more. You claim to KNOW...and i have a have a suspicion that all you have is a feeling...there is more. Please reveal this evidence you have or please...stop acting like you KNOW something

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Actually you small minded idiot, a Scientific Theory is greater than a fact because it is the explanation of many facts and contradicts none of them. Just watched your ass-rapeing over on Harry Reasoner's channel. Typical for a Creatard, you can't understand the difference between "Theory" and "Scientific Theory" Oh and just to say ALL CAPS doesn't prove anything.

    Science. It works. Bitch.

  • It's funny how all my comments get deleted, because some atheists want to believe only what they hear from false preachers, and anything beside God.

  • @ItsSoMe2011 Soon as this god of yours decides to communicate his word to someone other than illiterate shepherds, frauds or opportunist I am sure many including myself will be there to listen. It wouldn't take much effort on this god's part to perhaps speak to anyone of the great minds scattered over the centuries.

  • "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (Corinthians 4:18)

"If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered." (Proverbs, 21:13)

"For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear." (Timothy 4:3)

  • @ItsSoMe2011 and your point is?

  • At first, I had my first problem with God in prayer. I don't know if prayer was shaken first for you chronologically, but that was the first to go for me.

  • Wait so all you do is pray and do nothing ? I don't think it is how it work I think it is pray and then work. There is one thing here: ''First help yourself and then God will help you as well''

  • @Aleksa21111 If you do it your self how is god helping. lol.

  • @brandunish

Ok like this I went today and answered on subject and I knew for 3/4(C/B in USFA) and I got 5(A) that is how

and it is true story really happen today

  • @Aleksa21111 In that case, one might as well pray to a rock. At least the rock exists...

  • if u had a chance to live in a muslem country then u would be so happy to be a christian and u would realize what u have with christian faith. i compair my life now with the time that i was not praying and i see the difference, how do u explain that?

  • @serojg Simple. Lives change all the time...some people have better lives without belief, some people better themselves without belief. IF you better yourself, then you did that...how can you explain the link between your belief and your life becoming better? How does that follow? Why would you take credit away from yourself for bettering your own life? Seems wrong to me.

  • @BigLundi Where is my comment? what did i say here? anyway: i always ask this to myself: i did the same as my brother did, but he achieved a better place in his life, the question "why?" has no answer for me, can u explain it? dont talk to me about accidents because its impossible to make an iphone by accident or your body, brain and heart.

  • @serojg I never did talk about accidents. You bettered yourself. Quite simple. You can chose to denigrate your achievements and render them meaningless by attributing them to an unprovable invisible friend if you want, but I'd rather you simply pat yourself on the back for becoming a better person all on your own. *shrug*
