To others who are about to have the barium test.... I did not find it bad at all. It was fine. Try to keep calm by deep breathing and thinking about pleasant things, and all will be well. It will be over before you realize it. It does not hurt, and is not uncomfortable in any way.

Thanks so much. My father had bypass several weeks ago and spent four days on a ventilator, after which his swallowing mechanism is malfunctioning just a bit. He's had four barium swallow tests and the next is supposed to be a modified one. Your video helped me understand what they're doing just a bit.
