Saw them twice.Once as support to The Jam,and later headlining on their own,with Chelsea as support.Both times in Newcastle,circa 79/80.Managed to get their autographs as well,and boy,were they funny as fuck on stage.

I can't actually remember it,if I'm honest,as it was a long time ago,what I can remember though,is the first time I saw Chelsea,they were playing at the hotel beneath Madison nightclub.

Chelsea never got out of that 'support' band rut, but they deserved to. I never saw the dickies, I always felt they were something of a pisstake of punk.
