Great Dane Zoomies

Absolutely love her! I have a Great Dane and he gets zoomies too, I cant imagine having a Dane with out them because they are so funny when they get them! Its a way of showing their character and burn off energy! Love Luna and hope she is doing great!

Our Great Dane Koda, also does those all over our hardwood floors and he's a mess! He'll also put his butt on the couch and sit to watch TV. This dog is hysterical. He's only 11months so I'm so happy we still have many wonderful years of fun ahead.

I had a brindle great dane many years ago...he was friendly to practically everyone (except maybe to a neighbor's giant black poodle, Tony)...but my dog would do a major "zoomie" up-&-down the stairs and around parts of the rooms when a family friend, Andy, would come over...you would not want to have been in his path...hehe...

Our Merle Great Dane Maddie used to do that just randomly... You are right....we would stay out of her way, running up & down the stairs and up on the couch, etc. To make her stop I would just say...ok I need to vacuum and she would stop in her tracks..lol Never understood why she was afraid of the vacuum. We think the noise? She live to be a ripe 10 years old and gave us some of the best love and happy memories ever! We miss her dearly.

Thanks for telling me about your own dog...come to think of it, my dog may not have been too fond of the vacuum cleaner either...10 years is fairly old for a great dane- mine lived ~3 days short of his 9th B-day...I miss my dog, too...I dream about him now maybe several times per year...I'm guessing that you had your own "Marmaduke-like" stories, too - things like getting food off the top of the refrigerator...may you cherish your memories...

Looks like a Great Dane to me Ghost... just a bit pointy nosed like my Molly (merle), which is often the case with Harle lines. My blue has the square, mastiff look..as do most fawns nowadays.

My dane is deaf and she barks, just not very often. She mostly only barks when the other dogs are going crazy. Sometimes she'll scary me though when she barks because it's so deep, loud, and unexpected.

I should know... I have a great dane too. she is so big i have to sleep on the floor. I have advice too... if you have a great dane, show them love, just dont let them sleep on the bed with you, otherwise you should have two beds in your room. I think its messed up that i have to sleep on the floor cuz i have a full sized bed. but their awesome dogs to have. :)

Luna is beautiful! My Dane, Isis, also tore her ACL and we did the surgery. It was a long road to recovery for us, but well worth it. Luna will do great. ;) Gotta love house zoomies. My other Dane, Si, will bank from the sofa, to the recliner, to the papasaan, to the floor... repeat. I should get some video of him!

First she's a senior... she shouldn't be having puppies, secondly she's deaf, she shouldn't be bread. Now Im sorry she's not even my dog, sorry for responding for you GoVolsUT , but Im asuming nicolatwo is asking, because they want a puppy. Read up on the breed. In fact read up on any breed. You don't breed deaf dogs. And you don't breed senior dogs, for your liking.

shouldnt put them to sleep if they are still able to function..alot of white(or albino i think) great danes are either blind or deaf.. so if they are still able to live safely then let them.

I have a 10 month male fawn Great Dane who is 33 inches at the shoulder and goes berzerk when it's time for his walk...I take him to a lake everyday where he fetches sticks in the water like a retriever! Great dogs.

I agree. Some breeders are crazy. I know someone whose dog got someone's dog pregnant, and the owner of the female dog was a breeder and wanted to put all the puppies to sleep because it got messed up. It's terrible.
