Had the pleasure to be at this show.. This wasn't the last time I saw Mikey because I saw them later that year at 'Roo 2002, however, Oak Mountain shows always seem to have some sort of spark within the band that makes magic happen. My ex-girlfriend and myself agreed that if we were ever to get married, this version or the version from Carbondale in 2000 would be the song danced to after the ceremony. This is definitely one of my top 5 shows.. Don't Be Denied encore the night before was amazing
My wife and I never ever missed an Oak Mtn show eversince they started in 91 and this last was the last time we got to see our friend before he passed
@WSPWeasel I am with you on that bro. Saw many a run but this one cannot be topped. Went to Red Rocks later that summer and it was great but the emotion that weekend combined with the boys just tearing it up was something I will never forget.
My heart is an open ride...JB was singinging this to Mikey! And Mikey was playin' right back....so beautiful!! Not to mention...the last Genesis with ole Mikey!!
I am too young to have seen Panic when Mikey was their lead guitarist, but like most people Live in the Classic City is what I think of when I think of Widespread panic.
Happy Birthday, Mikey!

This was the last time I saw Mikey play. I'm sure I will be brought to tears when the boys make their long awaited return to Oak Mountain in April.

This still takes me straight to tears.. watching JB hold back his tears..singing to Mike.
And the crowd.. thats what widespread panic is really about..
