@SeptemberFury ... The Eurofighter is not the loudest jet there are lots of others such as the Vulcan, Victor, AN225 and many others. Ps. the eurofighter is overated it is Not stealthy at all, it is Ugly and has to have computers just to keep it in the air whilst others do not. Harriers & Jaguars FTW
@TheBoringAntelope Yes, it does have stealth aspects, it is one of the most capable strike fighters and air superiority fighters. It has MORE computers to keep it in the air. Come on Harriers and Jaguars? The harrier especially a superb aircraft and very innovative but it is 2 generations behind.
That is not especially low for the best of the RAF. I remember hearing of Jaguars being flown so low they flew UNDER telephone wires, the wires being 28 feet above the ground, and the Jaguar being 16 feet in height. THAT is a low pass.
OK, you can take off some height because the landing gear would not have been down at 600 knots.
Of course officially they were flying at 200 feet. Yeah right.
@MartinJWillett Have to also remember the Jag had no terain folowing radar, so the pilot was flying it at whatever hight not a computer unlike the tonka, harrier and typhoon for that mater.
Woah! How did you manage to get that down on video? Did you preempt the passing of the Jaguar or was it a common routine for the Jaguar to fly so low?
thats a strange engine u hear it before it comes 2 u then it makes the same exact sound again like 100000000000 times slower than the speed of sound... hehe
correction there are still jag's in service albeit not with the RAF but Indian air force. and the Oman Air force, all over operators of the aircraft have taken them out of service
there are also two jags at Boscombe which were transferred to QinteiQ, these are both airworthy although that could of changed since.
Mistake, it depends upon the density altitude that the aircraft is flying at. The aircraft in this video has not passed before that loaud noise. I could be a build up of pressure in front of the aircraft, a bit like the doppler effect with sound waves.
Good explanation, however, in the case of this video, I think it was an audio editing mistake. You would never, ever hear a roar of that intensity before the aircraft has passed.
thats not a good explanation it's crap it is common sence that you cannot hear a sound from something that hasn't happened yet i.e. the jet passing the camera the doppler effect is dictated by your position relavent to the position of the object creating the sound it is only inhanced by the speed of the object not changed entirely as it would have to have been for his explanation to be correct besides light travels faster than sound if it hasn't happened yet you havn't heard it
Nice Sepcat Jaguar. The sound of one approaching aircraft doesn't happen twice ! Doppler effect happens once per vehicle. Supersonic or subsonic = one continuous sound. There is an unseen Jaguar (Title of video is plural "Jaguars") passing behind camera or the audio is just wrong.
I'm English you tool!!! It was a windup!! I just pretended I was a Yank to prove to a friend that some of the comments I'd of got would prove a large number of us are just as thick as they are. And I hate to say it - there were some proper retards out there!
Reminds me when i went on trips to Devon as a kid. One time on the moors a Jaguar pilot came down low over us and banked his wings in salut, it was well cool.
The distinction between the Jaguar and the Tornado is difficult, especially at high speed and a shaky cameraman!.However, having said that,if you pause the picture at the best appropriate moment, you will indeed see that the aircraft is a Jaguar.I mean,I should know. Our Indian Air force uses them, including ex RAF GR Mk1's.
I rebember when i was a little aircadet flying from RAF Coltishall, took off in a chipmunk with a Jag right next to us on the runway doing a tandem take off, all i remember seeing was plumes of exhaust fumes and the ass end of his reheaters hehe was amazing and very loud, will never forget that day, was amazing . thanks for posting this video =]
thats below the fukin hard deck maverick your ass is on the line boy mark my words you'll be flying a plane full of rubber dog shit out of Hong kong mother fuck
My family used to camp in the Rangeley Lakes region of Maine back in the late 70s, and it was not an uncommon sight to see National Guard F-100s, along with the occasional FB-111, skimming the water at about that height.
What we seem to have here is a young(ish) person from the colonies who struggles to put forward a fully structured sentence, let alone a coherent argument. I think it would probably be best if we more worldly-wise Brits were to urge young Reds1500 to perhaps return to his book-larnin' for a while before he attempts to join in any future adult debate, don't you?
U had technology ("sorry sir i regret to inform you that our nation's debt is now at - $6,000,000,000", yes 6 billion). Anyhow, tecnology or not, your incredable, yes incredable F-22 Raptor (i was at air venture 2008 to see it, its awesome) can go stealth and deploy ordanance undetected, WTF, a sopwith can kick its ass probably. f22 is way to fast. The sopwith will blow it to dust with a little browning! Now please take a look at the SU-37, your words "lets keep playing runescape!".
Unfortunatly, our nation's debt is in the trillions of dollars, not billions. We'll be holding our breath for a long time. Just ignore that guy. That pointless argument, of "we're better, nope, we're better" is a waste of time. It sad to see the Jaguar go.
that would scare the shit out of anyone...even if they expected it....I had it half volume and went into the hallway it made that noise and I said" the hell?". I decided to show my sister and told her to turn the volume up to half....it scared the shit out of her too.
LOL^^^. Your lucky you had it half volume. Gosh I freakin had it on full blast like usual. It scared the living shit out of me. I totally didn't expect that.
wow im used to hearing jets i dont get scared by them i lived near a air force base for 3 years ive seen f-18s, and saudi aribian jet and a cargo plane and the an-124 4 times soo i dont get scred very esily by these unless if ur waiting in lin e at a airshow and one passes over ur head then i got scared at that cause i wasnt paying attenion rofl
the jaguars were awsome, the USAF were told not to fly with the RAF as the pilots were "crazy" lol my dad was in the 1991 Gulf and said he seen a jaguar fly at 7-8 Ft off the ground! but hes heard the lowest was 5.5 Ft! lol. its a shame there not operational anymore :(
For the amount the Jaguar cost the RAF, how few were lost in operation and the work that they did for the "Alliance" I think we owe a great deal to them.
