My grandfather, Gaston Auclair, was a sports commentator for the french-speaking radio station CJSO in Sorel, QC (Canada), and he was covering the event.
I've a wonderful recording of its comments of the second game. I post it on YouTube.
It's amazing to see there still pasionate people over here!
Hi Mickey this is the old timer from Yonkers NY Talk about being an old time Yankee fan We used to sit in the bleachers for 25 cents [lol] .Greatest thrill as a fan . In 1969 was invitedto a Yankee -Washinton Senators game at Stadium Frind of mine recived tickets from Frank Howard who wasin the service with his brother We ended the night in the Rooevelt Grill Having a few beers. Got to meet manager Ted Williams
I don't know where you got your information from, but believe me,I was 16 then and nobody, repeat nobody, thought that the Yankees would sweep the Dodgers.Everyone thought that the World Series would go at least 6 and probably 7 games, which it did.
Thanks for an outstanding job!!! I saw Sandy Koufax make his Major League pitching debute, at Ebbetts Field, from the R/F grandstand...1955, in a double header against Cincinnati. Been a Dodger Fan ever since!!!
Very well done...and I actually remember this when, as a kid in the fourth grade in Brooklyn, we'd run around the school getting the latest results from someone who had a radio and gave us inning-by-inning news! (Of course, 1955 was the year we all remembered best!)
The 1952 World Series the wait till next year Dodgers vs the team of the 50's the Yankees.

The part about the "Dodgers getting swept" isn't true...the 1952 series was expected to be a classic, and it was
