  • sweet spectralerts

  • I heard relays clicking inside the panel to the coding of the Horns. I assume this alarm is panel coded?

  • I take it this test was done with the panel plugged in since it said trouble=0 and usually all panels whether simplex or anyone else don't like it when they have to run on the batteries.

  • @Gb755c Ummm yes AC power was on at the time of this test!

  • what's this transparent thing on the pull station ?

  • @paul9511 its called a stopper. Its used to stop kids from pulling the alarm...

  • @twoplyboy ok, so how it works ? In the video, you removed it without problem. And if it blocks acces to the pull station, how can they pull the alarm in case of real fire ?

  • @paul9511 They can still pull it, it is just the noise from that is enough to stop them from pranking some times.

  • @paul9511 In a real emergency no one's gonna care that the thing is blaring after they remove it It's easy to pull off it's just a way to discourage pranksters since A it's an extra step they have to do to pull it and B the siren in this case is sure to attract attention and someone is more likely to catch the person in the act of pulling it.

  • @twoplyboy that siren in the stopper is it loud

  • Cool! The stopper has a siren instead of a beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

  • Why are there Simplex pulls and a Simplex 4010 but SpectrAlert alarms?

  • @msj191961 Simplex will buy from other manufacturers. It's more common to see a fire alarm system where the pull stations, the panel and the annunciators are simplex but the notification appliances that is horns, bells speakers, etc are wheelock. In this case, the contractor wanted SpctrAlerts so Simplex bought those horns. It's a way to make a system cheaper when the bids are placed.

  • @ 0:28 it looks like a simplex truealert voice evac system

  • system sensor specralerts in code 3.

  • Why didn't the Stopper2 cover make the sound 'till the alarm went off?

  • What does the screen say right before you acknowledge the alarm? Does it say Alarm Silence/System Reset Allowed, Restore previous screen, press any key? That's what it looks like, so I'm gonna assume silence inhibit was set.

  • yeah he lives in the capital of canada so it has to be bilingual.... i live in london so everything is mostly english

  • The Raymond Elementary School in my town has a Simplex 4010 system too, but the signals are 4051+4050-80 horn/lights from the old Simplex 4208 system, and they still have the old break-glass pulls

  • @wileyk209zback I wonder how they got away with doing that since light plates are not ADA compliant. unless they were just looking to replace the panel itself and not upgrade the system as a whole.

  • @Gb755c They wanted to just replace the panel; 4208s are REALLY old

  • Because it's typically locked....

  • why would you put the panel at the door

  • The pull model is a Simplex 4099-9001CB.

  • well sorry

  • Oh wow, I was a jerk.

Sorry I made that comment =[

  • Also, why are there spectr-alerts on a simplex system

  • They can have whatever they want. Why does my school have AS's on a Simplex system?

  • The 4010 has a dress panel?

  • Of course it does.

  • that is ADDRESSABLE prowerbot

  • Comment removed

  • yeah it was an elementary school after hours.

  • It is a school you dummy and you can't reset a fire. I think you mean resetting a fire panel.

  • What I meant to say is fire alarm. Sorry if you got mixed up.

  • Oh, it's OK.

  • I fucking hate those stupid plastic covers over the pull station. What is the purpose of having them,to keep people from pulling the switch for no reason?

  • Yep. Exactly.

  • basically yes

  • for the last time its spectr-alert

  • you mean spectra-lert.

  • no it is spectr-alert geeze

  • you're right, it is SPECTRA-LERT.

  • He's right. It's Spectr-Alert.

    Even system sensor says Spectr-Alert.

  • well, then all the honeywell reps in Texas are idiots, cause in TX, we say Spectra-lert(sometimes it sounds like Spectral-ert, but).

  • Whoever had the system installed should've had TrueAlerts, not SpectraAlerts. TrueAlerts sound better.

  • I'm sure those SpectrAlerts won't make the small children's ears bleed to death like a TrueAlert would.

  • neither one would. not loud enough. they weren't like the old Simplex 4040's back in my day. they would make your ear drums pop, and wet to bed! lol

  • Yeah, it doesnt matter, their both loud, they both mean something.

  • lol. What was with the stopper? The horn sounded at random.

  • it's because where I live it's bilingual. English and french is teached in most schools.

  • Finally, the alarms have strobes

  • nice job keep up the good work

  • I didn't think you were supossed to remove those plastic coverings

  • the one at 133 is that broken?

  • nope works fine. There is no strobe on that one.

  • The stupid Stopper when you where trying to put it back went off can get annoying so Im not going to get it I saw you getting mad at it lol

  • yeah they are a real pain but it stops kids from pullin false alarms in school. like I said it hard to film and do that at the same time when you got one hand free. if they dont use stoppers then they use an ink in behind the pull station that get worse when you wash your hands hahahaha...kinda cool!

  • Why not just do like what they have on traffice lights and some amusement park rides have a camera set to take the person'a picture when the pull station is triggered lol

  • tahts why they have survelliance cams. Every pull at my school has a camera right near it except one

  • How come there isn't a strobe on that one?

  • ya its an older spectralert we have those at our school on the outside itis the only place in the aren i know of that has those

  • what SpectrAlerts sound like the wheelock as

  • these original Spectralerts are not loud at all in person. From up close they can be. I heard one being used as a door alarm (set to temporal!) and it wasn't loud at all.

  • That's a werd-sounding Stopper II. I thought they just went like "BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!" a straight tone, and not a car alarm-type sound.

  • I meant to say what was the website name for the make up your own system topic

  • The Schumin Web

  • the one at 1:32 is the ones that we have on the outside of my school

  • Was this in Canada? The T-bar pull'S in English and French. That might explain the fact of SpectrAlerts in a Simplex system.

  • yeppers!

  • I guess Simplex systems with SpectrAlerts are more common in Canada than here in the States. I know some Simplex systems use Wheelock signals, and some use Federal Signal or Gentex signals.

  • They aren't wher I live! It's All Edwards 270-SPOs and Edwards 8" bells.

  • At 1:16, was that a Spectralert on the ceiling? I know they were Spectralerts, but i didn't know they could be mounted on the ceiling

  • yeah they have ceilng mount versions

  • lol they call that a Vestibule.

  • was that a remote horn at the end?! i've never seen one of those in action, let alone a video!

  • if its the plain red one. No. Its your standard 4 wire horn w/o strobe.

  • yeah, if it has no strobe, it's a "remote horn"

  • Dose it have a MDL on the spectralerts.

  • where was this at

  • at elementary school.

  • What's the name of this elementary school?

  • dont think he can tell u that

  • Another awesome video! The spectras were panel coded, as I heard the relay clicking at the panel. It is very unusual for System Sensor NAs to be installed with Simplex systems, but I'm sure they had their reasons...

  • ah probably what was cheaper for the contractor to install to get the bid...who knows..

  • The SpectrAlerts in code 3 with Simplex 4099-9001 pulls. What are the models of the SpectrAlerts?

  • I know that the SpectrAlert remote horns are the H12/24's. I guess the horn/ strobe are either P1224MC's, P121575's, P24110's, P2415's, P241575's, P2430's, or P2475's.

  • Was that a wall mount SpectrAlert mounted on the ceiling at 1:17?

  • btw, the SpectrAlerts can't be the P12## models, because they'd blow up because of the 4010's output power, which is 24VDC.

  • Actually, I think, SpectrAlerts set on coded and the 4010 on code 3.

  • No, the spectralerts are set to continuous. And the strobes are on a separate NAC.

  • Yeah, that is what I'm saying, set on continuous, panel coded to code 3 from the 4010.

  • Oh.

Having a strobe NAC won't sync the strobes. Which is kinda required. Unless it's different in canada.

  • Yeah, the coded thing, I was Thinking the SpectrAlert Advance.

  • @DVaccarelli1988 Those are spectralert classic horn/strobes for the most part I'm guessing the one at the end is just a spectralert horn only as it doesn't appear to have a strobe?

  • @DVaccarelli1988 Oh no those are SpectrAlert classics trust me you will know when you hear an Advance going off the sound is a higher pitched shrill and the horn itself looks different than the classic.

  • Was that an annunciator I heard during your fight for the Stopper?

  • no it was not. It was the security panel at the back enterance.

  • SpectrAlerts on a Simplex system? WHY?

  • lol....IDK I didnt install it!!

  • In your "Make Up A System" topic on TSW, I made up a system with SpectrAlerts on a Simplex system.

  • yeah, i made up what i call a "WTF?!" system. i'm 4903-9418 on TSW.

  • what is the website for it

  • great video!
