I was wondering about babies in these kinds of burdensome situations: can the baby feel it if people touch the twin's limbs? If not, would it be helpful if they surgically removed the twin a bit at a time just to take more and more burden off of the living baby? I am no medical expert. This was just a thought.

Also, just because people live in a third world country doesn't mean they aren't educated. Most people don't have good medical care, if any at all, and they are not able to have the child tested for birth defects. If you look at our country, there are many people who abort babies because of birth defects. It happens everywhere, but it's far more common in poor countries.
Most third world conditions are exposed to diseases were usually vaccinated from at early ages. this has alot to do with diseases tge mother may have been exposed to. So its not always india.

A few cases of certain diseases or conjoined twins are usually very rare, and extremely hard to come by. But because these countries have more people, the chances of there being some rare disease or conjoinment are better (more?) than anywhere else in the world.

Most people don't have good medical care, if any at all, and they are not able to have the child tested for birth defects. If you look at our country, there are many people who abort babies because of birth defects. It happens everywhere, but it's far more common in poor countries.

For everyone wondering what happened, here it is. The baby was taken to the US for a procedure to separate him from his twin. He survived the operation and is now a very happy one-year old. If you want the entire story you can google "Nepalese 8-limbed baby."

I'm Indian and proud of it, but these folk are stuck in the past and stay in their ways. Most of the genetic mutations happen because of a common gene in India. A lot of genetic mutations happen because of the growth rate in population. If India wasn't still all about male dominance and the desire to want a male child then these problems would never have existed, if Americans /British/Canadians etc. were to have constant sex for a male child, trust me the same problem would occur.
