that´s funny how things goes... every gig you put that cha cha slide... if i played that music here in Brazil, people would look me strange... its not famous here, very diferent styles....
dude i think ur great lol im a dj to just starting called "freedom jams" from baltimore MD, in bout 6 or 7 years ill be asking u for aid if you would come here
I should start gig-logging... but I don't know if everyone would want to hear the exact same playlist as yours Brian.... I'm laughing my ass off right now cuz every song in this log was played at the wedding I did saturday... and the bar last wednesday.
Brian, I'm so glad to hear your comments about working the tables, after the discussion we had at Vegas Airport in Feb. It's worked for me for so long now, and with the following you have, it's great that you can get the word out there about a simple, effective use of a DJ's time at a wedding.
So many people comment when I walk around "nobody ever asked us about the music WE want to hear at a wedding".
Hopefully this video will persuade wedding DJs that it's a great piece of customer service.
I like the Electric Casper Slide mix... Nice one. Could you show us a video of the revo 4 without the lens? Wonder if it would look like a standard par can wash...
I'm a busy guy. Did you ask several detailed questions in one email? It may take me a while to get to you. I've got several hundred of emails just like yours waiting for answers which is why I always like to direct people to the FORUM VIDEOS
There, sent you a response which was basically to let you know ALL the info you seek has already been covered in older videos I've done.
Have a look at the tutorials. I have loads of them on setting up PA systems. I COULD spend 1/2 hour of my time looking up all the specs of the things on your wish list OR I could teach YOU how to do this and put it together yourself.. which is what I've tried to do with many of the 600 + videos I've posted :)
Hey Brian, love your videos. I just realized something while watching it though. Wouldn't it be considered dangerous to point a laser into the crowd like you do...? As much as it looks cool, even the lowest powered laser could cause damage to the eyes (i.e. laser pointers).
There shouldn't be any problems with low powered lasers producing beams of 4.9 MW or less. The Galaxian lasers produce a LOT less than 4.9 MW per beam.
As a general rule? No, you should never point lasers at anyone... so yeah I do break the rules a bit. But, seeing how these are class 3A lasers, I'm not even a little worried
I have to agree with that... I think that the Revo 3 is more of a centerpiece whereas the Revo 4 is more of an effect (something you could use a few of) Either way it's very cool.
I've done that with the Mega Bars. They are too bright for a direct dancefloor hit (got a video up on that somewhere). If you were there, you'd see the light bleed-in from the rear uplights.
Next time I do a wedding, I may try the white Scrim King skirts and light them up, which should create a brighter dancefloor wash
I do a lot of Smooth Jazz that comes in from my Top Hits USA subscription. I'll also do mellow hits and some pop standards like Nina Samone, Norah Jones, Frank Sinatra, etc
Hey Brian, Love the speakerstand covers My ultimate speakerstands are about 15 years old. They still hold up but they are showing the ware only so much Sharpie marker can hide the dings. These can help hide the deep scratches thanks! I'm gonna look into getting those covers.
Great looking crowd at Evolve Bri. Bri, how do you like the Revo 4. I'm torn between the Revo 3 and Revo 4. Revo 4 does a whole lot more patterns and programs than just the firework thing. Ever tried both of them together yet to see how they look and operate together?
I llike the scrim king stuff but spoke to them and then indicated that there is new product line coming out. More than likely at MBLV where the covers will cover more than 1 side.
great vid brian, I dont normally like the speaker stand skirts/covers but love that simple but clean effect! given me some great ideas for the future ....big up
It's never (and I mean NEVER) been played in OZ. Not sure it was ever released here, but I've never heard of it until youtube. The world's a funny diverse place, isn't it. BTW, I wish it had been released here - it sure as hell ALWAYS fills the floor in every gig log I've seen, lol.
You should give it a try! Worst case, you could always learn the dance and teach it. I've got Damo over at Midnight Sounds in Melbourne doing all sorts of silly American stuff at his show and it works!
is that the galaxian 3 D ??
