  • This is a gd clip in introducing Vaganova (:

  • This is a good video:)

  • Vaganova Academy is definately the best ballet school in the world!

  • i wish i could be like them. the schools here in my country aren't as efficient.

  • vaganova is the best style of ballet

  • who are the elderly dancers in the grande defile at the end?

  • those are probably ex-ballet dancers(lol) and the very last one is Vaganova herself...

  • They are to expressive.

  • the best technique... i love it...

  • was there actual footage of Vaganova herself in this video? It's amazing.

  • Vaganova trully is a beautiful technique!!!

  • For all you fans of ABT, NYCB and POB. etc., etc. Do you really not see the difference in training and culture here? This is IT. This is built on centuries of refinement, examination and teaching to core principles. And it continues to evolve.

  • Not a bad clip, a bit varied for me, would have liked to see more students. But thanks for posting it, Youtube needs a bit of culture!

  • ide hate going there no funn

  • this was made around 1990 - Konstantin Sergeyev is alive here, and he died in 1992. Just in case anyone doesnt known who is is, it is his version of "Raymonda" nearly everyone dances nowadays, and his version of "Le Corsaire" (originally staged for the Bolshoi in 1992 - his last production) which in ABT's repertory. Also his version of Sleeping Bauty is still in Mariinsky rep.

  • Vaganova is the best way. Period.

  • agreed

  • how very pretty and induvidual :)

  • was this made as a tribute to mme. dudinskaya? most of the clips are of her.

  • my ballet teachers were principal dancers at vagnova

  • cool me too

  • wow where is this... amazing

  • i agree with only ballet. people who dance balanchine wouldnt be doing so if it werent for vaganova. ~ and in my opinion it is the cleanest technique. :]

  • Though a Vaganova disciple myself, history can't be re-written...Balanchine left Russia BEFORE Madame Vaganova became the codifer of technique. His teachings were based upon the older Imperial School.

  • Yes but balanchine threw out classics

  • I'm not sure what point you are making. I'm not defending either technique. I'm simply clarifing history...Balanchine was not a pupil of Vaganova. He had left Russia before she had an active hand in revulotionizing ballet technique. If, however, you were to ask me which I think is best, I would clearly say Vaganova's record speaks for itself.

  • ditto

  • Of course, my spelling could've been better! ;)

  • If the Vaganova scool is the worst technique for ballet, I wonder why it turned out many of the world's best dancers over many years? (Dudinskaya, Sizova, Kolpakova, Lezhnina, Soloviev, Asylmuratova, Ruzimatov, Lopatkina, Ulanova, Semenyaka, Zakharova, Vishneva, and Balanchine himself.)

  • Vaganova created the worst technique for ballet

  • that's weird...everyone always says that vaganova is the best ballet school in the world, after paris opera ballet...

  • The technique I learn in my school is Vaganova....and the students in my school are can't dance becouse of the tightness of the technique...

Balanchine's ballet method is the best...

  • vaganova is the best. You all havent been taught very well or you would know that.

  • yes yes I agree but the Paris opra ballet has too a perfect technique!!!

  • my teacher me and the other students ar most defenitly expressive. Some places are not expressive in class, yet are the best on stage.

  • If they're not expressive in class... They don't like dancing, I think. I need to smile a live the music when I dance, Even in class

  • If you are not expressive in class, you are working hard. Some have the expressions naturally, while others have to consentrate to smile, even if they love ballet more than anything.

  • it was not Vaganova's method that leaded you to the problems, but your teachers!

  • Ankiepower was her name Luba?

  • haha my former balletteacher could go on forever about vaganova xD

  • dudinskaya is irresistable!

  • omg...awesome piano! =P jk...awesome footage...thx for the upload ^^

  • wow

  • MY FAVOURITE BALLET ACADEMY EVER..LOVE IT...

  • same!!

    wish i could attend it
