When he says, "the fundamentals of our economy are strong" what he means is, we are the largest, most efficient, most productive economy on the planet and we will continue to be--even after this credit crunch. Of course this won't last for ever though. Other economies are more free than ours. Freedom, despite everyone call for regulation, is the key to our ability to stay on top. We are probably going to lose some after this.
Here's the only thing -- you can't say the fundamentals are strong when unemployment is at a 5 year high. You can't say the fundamentals are strong when there is a mess in the housing industry, and when banks collapse daily. You can't ignore these, and other fundamentals of the economy which are clearly NOT strong, and say the fundamentals of the economy are strong. Also, it should be noted that even though McCain helped to de-regulate Wall Street, he is now calling for more regulation.

These are all cyclical events. The fundamentals go beyond the cycle. These things happen every few years. It's normal. Every one is different though, and every one is the "next great depression." Every one is worse than most others in one way or another. There is always some record tredgedy to unfold, yet we always pull through and come out better off than we were before. That's because the fundamentals ARE strong. I'm not a McCain fan though.
Yes but nobody said that McCain is a real Republican, he is just speaking retorical BS to try and get elected.... He's just as liberal as all the other Dems, and he will still be in the Senate spending everybody elses money long into he next presidency. Bail Outs are Bull Shit and their feeding it to us by the dumptruck load. and again I quote to my fellow American Citizens "Garden up, gun up" or wind up pushing up daisies.....
This gives the lie to the idea that when McCain kept saying "the fundamentals of our economy are strong" he was talking about workers. He was talking about the economy as a whole, and he said it not just once: it was part of his stump speech.

Just another feather in Dubya's "Legacy" hat.

Support Ron Paul's H.R.2755 To Disband the Federal Reserve System.
Our troubles and enslavemant began in 1913 when those Ratbastard Central Banksters got control of our government through the issuance of our currency.
We have been rolling downhill like a snowball headed for Hell ever since.
Do some homework and come join us. The Revolution is ON!
Food riots by 2012? Garden up, gun up.
