Yeah, enough with the negative waves. ;) I don't know of anyone who could do better than Mike Curb Congregation, but at least Donny recognized a great song and gave it to his fans, who may have never saw the movie or heard this song before. Gotta give him credit for that, at least.

I doubt if the 13-year-old Donny had any say about what would be on his albums, but his versions of many classics WERE the first I heard back then. This version of "Burning Bridges" only came out a year or so after the MCC's; in fact, the Osmonds had a long association with Mike Curb. Unfortunately, I think it ended when he sued Donny for "Soldier of Love!"

Wasn't this also at the time when he didn't really make decisions, he just did what other people (mainly his family) told him to do? Opportunities came and the whole family decided what to do and he did it regardless of how he felt about it? (I'm trying to remember what i read in his book)

yeah, absolutely. he was too young to make many of the big decisions. the family's motto, was as long as it was an Osmond up front, that's what was important. Donny was by far the most popular, so he just did what kept them on top, or at least, what everyone felt would keep them selling records, etc. And, frankly if someone like MIke Curb asked him to do the song, you bet he would do it. Mike helped the Osmonds get their start in pop music.
