Where is 'virtually everywhere?' Statistics on gun control show that an increase in gun control in states is followed by an increase in crime. And in states where they allow licensed carry they have less crime than those who don't. Look at California. Fourth. This will be the fourth fucking time I bring up Kennesaw and its neighbor, and how gun crime literally plummeted in Kennesaw when they implemented their "every home is required to have a gun" law.. No fatal shootings in 25 years (since it passed). AND their population went up as their crime went down. UNPRECEDENTED.
Meanwhile, in it's neighbor (Morton Grove) implemented a gun ban... Their crime went up!

Where is 'virtually everywhere?' Statistics on gun control show that an increase in gun control in states is followed by an increase in crime. And in states where they allow licensed carry they have less crime than those who don't. Look at California. They don't allow you to carry sharpened pencils in your pockets there, yet they have the 'Bloods and Crips' wreaking havoc.
Laws only disarm people who would obey the law to begin with. It's not law abiding citizens that are shooting each other.

But that wouldn't mean murder would stop. Mass murders? Hell no. Drive a car onto a sidewalk and see how many people you can run over before the police stop you.

People were robbing/murdering long before guns. GUNS AREN'T THE PROBLEM. Why can't you see that? Sure, it makes it easier for criminals, but it also makes it easier for people to defend themselves. Nothing is as much of an equalizer as a handgun.

I'll draw it out for you another way. Say you're in a room with 10 people. Everyone has a gun. Nobody shoots for fear of retribution.
Now take away a gun from 1 person. Sucks to be that 1 guy without a gun, but still relatively safe since there are enough guns to deter the others from abusing.
Keep doing that, and you'll see that as the amount of guns goes down, it gets worse for those without firearms. What happens when only the one guy (the government) has a gun?

regardless, guns kill people. and don't come back with that people kill people shit. they kill people with such high frequency because of guns. that's why in places where guns are banned the murder rate is significantly lower, even if you pro-rate a nation's population to be equal, to ours

@ericplayzbass2, a gun is a tool. A hammer doesn't build a house. People build houses. They simply use hammers. Likewise, people use guns. Some people misuse guns to kill people.
Without guns, this country wouldn't be free today. In self-defense, guns are not wrong if they are necessary. Our soldiers are protecting our freedom with guns. But if you choose to go shoot others out of malice or hatred and NOT self defense, then it is wrong.

You say don't use the "people kill people" argument? ok... The states with the most rigid gun control laws are California, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Illinois. Those states have crime rates that far surpass any states where qualified citizens are given the right to own and carry guns freely without government intervention. Your Utopian logic is wrong, it does sound great on paper though

well of course it is. I'm saying this as though it were a perfect society but of course that never works. that's why communism always fails. It looks perfect on paper, total equality. But people simply cannot be equal, it just can't happen.

check your facts ericplayzbass2....when guns get banned the murder rate is not always significantly lower...check out what happened in Canada especially the Toronto area when guns were banned. You think people who kill will follow a gun law? That is the problem who you anti gun folks out there you seem to think law abiding citizens are doing the shooting. Just make a law that will stop it! Like murder...did that law stop it? You blame guns for murder I blame my pencil for misspelled words.

I actually agree with you here. Statistics show that as gun control increases, so does gun crime.
An awesome example is that city (I always forget the name) that REQUIRED every home to OWN and maintain a ready firearm. Gun crime plummeted.
Gun control advocates don't seem to notice that these shootings usually happen in 'safe zones' where guns aren't allowed. School grounds being the most prominent example.

I agree. people without guns are always the ones to pay the price. Crime isnt that high in Alaska, wonder why?????oh yeah, its legal to carry a concealed firearm.

I don't know about Alaska's statistics, but I can offer you an example. If an old lady is coming down an narrow ally, and robbing her is the way you plan on eating tonight, if you're in a state that prevents her from carrying a firearm would you hesitate?
Now, same scenario, except that the state permits everyone to carry a firearm. You might still roll the dice and see if granny is pro gun control, but it will still give you pause. Doesn't matter how frail granny is if she's packing a magnum.
