I think it depends what figure you'll transition to after doing the Alemana. Traditionally the right side position is correct, however I know for a fact that they have multiple endings for this figure on this DVD.
texnically there NO side steps in Rumba, it is allway forward/backward. texnical reason for that that human body dedigned to move forward, not sideway.
Nice Dancers of course. But technically incorrect in the last step. As the lady if she is going forwards should be in right side position. Not in front of him. She would step sideways if it is in closed position. Or backwards if in open facing position.
