Gotta love Pat Buchanan. A true conservative, not Wilsonian Great Society Republican, a real Republican. In the Cold War he was a Cold Warrior like Reagan, but once the Cold War ended there was no need for the US to remain at a Cold War posture, the Soviets were gone.
Pat Buchanan is such an idiot. China "Pulled out" because they are NEXT DOOR! They don't need a base in the north because They are a right there! North Korea is just WAITING for America to leave. The two Koreas are STILL at war and we are their biggest allies. They are one of our best links to the east and it is growing every day! South Korea might be a huge economic power, but the North is a huge military power! Buchanan is a sniveling coward that skews history and stats to argue.
@GregorEzpo South Korea has the wealth to make themselves a superior military power. They don't need us and we don't need them. And as for South Korea being our ally--that Buchanan's point. We don't need all of these alliances which are dragging us into war and we certainly can't afford the cost in blood and money. Buchanan is right. Ron Paul is right. I'm right. BRING THE TROOPS HOME. Let's use them to protect our own borders.
@sleedolfine15 first, let me just say I wrote Ron Paul on for president, he is my hero. We are NOT being dragged into wars by being Korea's ally. The progress made by acting as a deterrent there is invaluable to not only us, but the Koreans who live freely. You can just throw away everything you own from LG, Samsung or anything else because it wouldn't exist without SK, and SK wouldn't exist if WE hadn't done the right thing by fighting Communism in the 50's.
@sleedolfine15 I am sure people like you and Buchanan were railing against us fighting Nazi influence during WW2, but if we had just sat back and let country after country be swallowed up, then no amount of "protecting our borders" would have matched the warmachine knocking down our door. Just like no man is an island to himself, no nation is either. Global interventionism is a tricky thing, and can be bad if used wrong. But we NEED allies and friendly nations we can trust and mutually rely
@sleedolfine15 South Korea Can't match the warmachine of the North, you know why? Because NK focuses more on military building than most countries bigger than it. NK has the 6th biggest standing army. They can afford to have it because the neglect the infrastructure and people in the country. For SK to go toe to toe with NK they would have to be just as terrible and inhumane as NK. You & Buchanan should start thinking about the welfare of humanity, not just Americans.
@GregorEzpo According to the KOREA TIMES,South Korea's GNI is $837.2 billion which is 37 times the North's $22.4 billion economy. S.Korea's capitalist economy should have no difficulty winning an arms race with their poor commie relation. And if they can't--shame on them. Anyway it's their responsibility and the responsibility of everyone to defend themselves. This is especially true in light of America's present economic difficulties, but I would feel the same even if our economy was good,
@sleedolfine15 The reason they have that kind of economy is because they don't funnel it all in the military like NK. Even with our superior army, it would be tough to go toe to toe with K because of how much the focus on their fighting forces above all else. It goes beyond $'s guy. During wartime NK can conscript soldiers and reallocate resources to the war effort in a way democratic countries can't.
@sleedolfine15 how can you say that It's the responsibility for everyone to protect themselves? democracy isn't going to spread by us acting like hermits and saying other countries to fend for themselves. Our economy would be worse off without friendly nations. USA WOULDN'T EXIST WITHOUT FOREIGN HELP DURING THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR! What if the French had said defend yourself? Your self centered look on the world is disgusting. Ron Paul isn't against helping allies, he is against imperialism
@sleedolfine15 I really hope you aren't a Christian Sleedofine. This pre-WW1 notion that countries as big as us can just sit back and do nothing on the world stage is naive at best. Look at Africa as a perfect example. Our government does almost nothing with that continent and what happens? China starts building roads, buildings, infrastructure, etc. If we don't widen our sphere of influence in a positive way, others will. And when they do, you won't like the way the world will start looking
@GregorEzpo The U.S. outspent the Soviet Empire in our arms race without harm to us because our free system gave us such a large economy that we could spend more in absolute numbers while spending a smaller percentage of that economy than did the Soviets. The South Koreans have the same advantage relative to the north. I'm not susgesting isolationism, but noninterventionism which would allow us to trade with, travel to & from and speak with other nations without interfering in their affairs.

@callofduty4eva Wait a minute. The government of Nicaragua was "popularly elected but they executed many thousands".
Of course that was the US propaganda at the time. But in reality America just wanted to overthrow any government in Latin America that was not effectively a puppet of the US. They favoured fascist dicatorships everywhere. When a left wing government was elected America funded and trained the terrorists to overthrow it. You cant be suggesting this is a good thing?
@callofduty4eva Were they also trained by the US military in torture and terrorism? At Fort Benning? Ron Paul and Bat Buchanan's political stances are basically that they only care about white Americans. Unfortunately for them there are other people in the universe.
@wijse You can care about your own. But when you're a politician representing all of the people in an entire state or country then no you can't ONLY care about one race/religion.
Pat Buchanan crosses the line from legitimate grievances to simply being a racist.
@IBeatUpThugs How do you define a racist? Is someone who just cares for his own a racist? or is he not just a white nationalist then. Do you define a racist as someone who thinks that the others are inferior? Because if you believe that Buchanan is a racist just because he cares for his own, does that not make Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson racists? They only care for their own aswell. Buchanan is not a politician anymore, he is a political commentator.
@wijse I'm not a black person and I'll readily agree Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are racists. They are racist like Buchanan because they want to benefit their people in an unfair way at the expense of other races. Pat Buchanan actually wanted a form of affirmative action for white people because he said too many Jews and Asians were going to Ivy league schools. He complained there are too many Jews on the Supreme Court. He wants to modify the rules to unfairly benefit his group, that's racist
@IBeatUpThugs When you want special advantages that other people don't get that's racist. It's inequality, implies you have a higher value and level of superiority. Pat Buchanan thinks a racial/religious majority needs to be maintained in all areas, regardless of individual work. Just like minorities think they should be handed things, regardless of individual work or talents. Neither wants to acknowledge Jews and Asians naturally thrive because they study and work hard.
Pat Buchanan, agree with him or not, he is a Patriot. He is a conservative, but he is a conservative that I love. He is not a Hawk, he is not a religious nut, he is not and never has been in the pockets of big buiz, he is just a reg old conservative. And this is coming from a true blue lib.
The radical-Zionists conned the Bush administration into attacking Iraq. That is just a plain fact.
All of the people on TV convincing Americans that war was justified were Jews and radical-Zionists.
The American media establishment, controlled by Zionists, fear Buchanan becaus he counters the standard Zionist propaganda that encourages Americans to die to advance the cause of Israel.
Zionism doomed but it is bringing down the US with it.
Edgehead: Paul is actually the only GOP candidate that won a race last year: his congressional seat, by a huge margin. He was not the only one to vote vs. the 1964 act, McCain and others as well and voted against it as it is unconstitutional and violates property rights. He is for an end of institutional discrimination and believes in natural rights and state sovereignty. Buchanan is no anti-Semite. The fact that neither Bush nor Obama condemned the Gaza massacre is a huge embarrassment !
Yeah, funny how Pat Buchanan and Hannity call each other "Brother". That is because they are both papal Knights serving the pope!! Neither has America's best interest at heart. Christian conservatives need not be fooled by either of these clowns.
Papist Buchanan is the Vatican's choirboy in DC. palecons and neo-cocks are speically created 'splinter groups' so they can take the heat off the REPBULICUNT party for fucking up this country. He's a JESUIT SHILL.

The economy was doomed the minute Clinton/Gore (DEMOCRATS) signed NAFTA into law. Cut the military by two thirds and then claimed a surplus. Bush continued the clinton NAFTA puish. The Dems pushed housing for everyone and now look at what we have and you want to blame the GOP for everything? While you are it blame the kennedy assasination on Bush! We need a US first policy economically. Ron Paul, Buchanan or Perot would have done that.
Yes, that is a very important distinction. The "Republicans" of today are not conservatives. They are an embarrassment to anyone and anything associated with conservatism. George W. Bush is NOT a conservative, but quite possibly the worst president in American history who set the conservative movement back decades. If you want to see an example of true a conservative, take a look at Ron Paul (and notice how the GOP treated him). The Republican party of today is the antithesis of conservatism!!

which surveys some of the economic problems plaguing Michigan and the nation, and the ideas of the one man with a viable solution, rooted in freedom and peace:
Has anyone here tries to call these n eo-con radio programs..Hannity, Medved, limbaugh, Levine? It's impossible...I've tried and tried they stage their calls that's a fact.
Especially Limbaugh..people calling basically calling him the second coming..they are warmonger whore shills no doubt..fuck them all!
Hannity is bought and paid for. Just like the MSM preferred candidates. Believe me if they could find real dirt on Ron Paul, it would have been done already. The man has been in office for 20 years and yet they can't find any concrete on the man. That speaks volumes to me. Ron Paul 2008
He doesn't speak out against racism. Accepts money from neo-nazis and wants to repeal the 1964 civil rights act. He is consistent b/c he thinks he knows how to bring utopia. News flash: no such thing.
Most of the information I get is from my econ textbooks (I'm majoring in international economics). Read "Peddling Prosperity" by Krugman, its shows economics in lay men terms if econ is not your thing. As for the internet, I don't know. I have a hard time trusting it. Wiki has some articles on it though. Paul supporters should understand it b/c he follows it to a teet.
Throughout the hundred years of segregation, whites made the same claims. The govt wasn't involved even though whites were invading our liberties. The civil rights acts of 1964 and 1968 were essential to ending segregation, now we must end racism and that problem must be solved actively not passively.
"andersoncouncil65"- While I agree with you that racism is abhorant and has no place in American society, it is nieve to think that the government can ever end it. That would require legislating peoples beliefs (whereas ending segregation dealt with actions), and as the communists learned this cannot be done. Racism can only be ended by exposing it to the shining light of knowledge.
I'm all for actions. I'm also for democracy. If a people wish to get together to take an active policy against oppression, the government should listen. Oppression doesn't not stop b/c one crosses his fingers.
I get so tired of hearing that "Post-9/11" world bullcrap. Doesn't Hannity realize every time he says those words its another victory for Osama bin Laden.
Absolutely. That's what Buchannan just said in this interview, the terrorists can't really do much, but they can commit acts of terrorism that cause us to loose our freedoms. And of course, Vannity talked right over him and closed his ears to any sort of reason.
Man, I'm going to probably die of happiness once Ron Paul is elected president!
Buchanan is definitely right. Saddamn would use chemical weapons against and ethnic minority but not against a nuclear power. Hannity overlooks this fundamental difference.
An appropriate analogy would be justification for the 2nd Ammendment: Would a criminal assault a citizen who carries? I don't think so.
Iraq was never ever a threat. Iran is an evil country but we compound our errors by threatening them.
This election is going to cost these two announcers more than they are willing to pay! Simply because they are Bush followers..The Americans want their country intact.- not combines with Canada and Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is ridiculous to see the way that Hannity talks to Buchanan compared how much he talks down to Ron Paul, even though they pretty much speak the same ideas.
if I had been of voting age in 1996, I would have voted for him. He sounds a lot like paul and is a reminder that paul is not the only one with his views.
There are quite a few...including Bush and his family. Let them go and fight...they want this war so badly...as long as it does not cost them a thing...
I say the same thing all the time! Hannity is just a complete moron! He's so far stuck up Rudy's ASS that he can't get oxygen to his brain, thus preventing him to make his own decisions!
Thats true though. Why would they attack us if they know we would stomp them. Saddam would have rather keep control then bother us but yet we still attacked him.
Absolutely, Buchanan was put down by the right when he was running for President and there is a good reason for that...He's no neocon! Ron Paul/Pat Buchanan in '08! Kuchinich is open boarders and pro gun control, etc. and Hagel is open boarders...totally unacceptable!
You know what I was wrong about Ron Paul. After seeing the Spanish debates yesterday I have grown to admire the man. He won me over when he said that Chavez was a product of US intervention in Latin America. I have never heard anyone have as much sense as Ron Paul. I am still not decided on voting for him though. But it is tough. I apologize for saying anything negative about him.
I a Sandinista lover. My uncle was actually in Nicaragua during the 80s. He was in a hospital in Managua. My uncle was a guerrilla in El Salvador. I am also a Socialist.

He won me over when he said that Chavez was a product of US intervention in Latin America. I have never heard anyone have as much sense as Ron Paul. I am still not decided on voting for him though. You're a fool if your opinion of the man could change so rapidly. Chavez is a terrorist. He has installed a program that gives people from terrorist-supporting nations Venezuelan passports and helps them to speak Spanish, disguise themselves as Hispanic, and come to America. That's actually an act of war against America by Chavez. The notion that he's done nothing to our nation is false. Pat Robertson wasn't so nutty after all.
You're obviously confused since you support Buchanan, an ultra-conservative, AND Hugo Chavez, a communist nutcase. Oil shouldn't be nationalized. It should be privatized; that's how capitalism (the greatest economic system in history) works. He's a terrorist because he lets terrorists into his country and gives them passports. He has quashed free speech by taking stations off the air if they criticize him. He's an anti-Semite like Buchanan and is friends with Ahmadinejad. He's a piece of shit.
I like how you ignored the other stuff that I said about Chavez. No, the government shouldn't own the oil. That's socialism, which doesn't work. There should be competition. Stop demonizing the rich; they provide jobs. Should the government take over all the fast food restaurants, too, dipshit? Fast food profits benefit the rich. Let's have them benefit the people. Lol.
good. and i have more to say. as there's shitty food and shitty stuff on tv and shitty facts of life, you, as a person, are great. keep doing what you're doing.
Who has universal healthcare and the option to go to college? Universal healthcare is crap. I don't like the idea of the government paying for the health insurance of people who are either lazy or who don't know how to manage their money.
I remember before the first Republican Debate everyone called him stupid and down played him. Take a secon look now..The man's war chest just out shot Mitt,McCain, and Guianni his fan based has doubled every 3weeks. Ron Paul will win Ring Freedom Ring Till the F.ckin Bell Cracks.
Seems To Me The Bell Of Freedom Tolls For Ron Paul.
Ron Paul, he's created the antidote... forged from the fires of the revolutionary hearts of men. The New World Order is created by those who seize the day. Join me my countrymen, and restore what is rightfully ours. Do nothing, expect nothing.
it can also be described as a corporate state because it also elects our leaders. What happened in 2000? Didn't Al Gore win? The Supreme Court appointed Bush. IF that isn't a dictatorship than what is?
I can't believe this is fox news. Pat Buchanan is basically talking about almost everything that Ron Paul stands for and they're not even opposing him in any way. Even that neocon guy seems to agree with him on foreign policy.

No, I don't like Hitler. It's Buchanan who does. Pat Buchanan is a joke. He doesn't even believe in evolution. Get over it. He blames Israel for everything and doesn't think that Hitler was such a bad guy.
Of course he's not going to say it in public. BTW, when did I say that I like Hitler, idiot, since you brought up my "inner Hitler"? Buchanan opposes Israel on everything and blames the allies for WW2. He's an embarrassing dickhead who keeps blathering on and on about "white America." He's a disgrace to conservatives.
Hes right in aspects that Israel cant just do everything they please and get away with it. I at one point supported israel, but the past few years, ive been thinking about a lot of things and looking at the big picture. You have to know the background from A-Z, he knows a lot more history than most people, therefore to people who dont know any history, he looks stupid, which he is not. He is just more educated than most people.
If an educated person came up to someone and started talking differential equations of course they would be right, but all the people who dont know him would think he is crazy or dumb. Just because you dont understand a person doesnt mean he is wrong.
You're very confused if you like both Buchanan and Chavez. The only thing that they have in common is their hatred for Jews. Buchanan is certainly against nationalizing big oil, moron.
it's amazing how low the bar is set in america. does nobody catch the nonsense here? nicaraguan contras were freedom fighters?? america is the last hope for humanity? such a statement is an insult to the people of latin america and every other region that has been oppressed and crushed under america's boot.
"You don't step on Superman's cape." Awesome line. But to counter Hannity, Kuwait was not some innocent country that Saddam to advantage of. Kuwait was seeping Iraq's oil through side pipes in the ground. And since oil rules the world, and people literally die for oil (even now), I guess Kuwait got what they deserved (in perspective)
Also, Saddam NEVER GASSED the Kurds, This conclusion was reached by the US ARMY WAR COLLAGE! it was IRAINIAN GAS which killed the Kurds. I am disappointed that Pat Buchanan appears ignorant on these facts.
Hannity is wrong on two very significant points. Saddam did not just wake up one morning and decide to attack it's neighbor. Kuwait was STEALING Iraqi stealing Iraqi oil. Something that was never told to the American people. In addition before making his move Saddam asked America if they had a problem with him defending his oil reserves by invading Kuwait,. America gave him the green light.
Bush's string-pullers were already planning to invade the middle east before he took office. Google for PNAC, and read and look at who signed the document "Rebuilding America's Defenses." It was published in September of 2000.

He's also an anti-Semite and racist. BTW, what makes a person a "religious nut"?
Edgehead10075 2 years ago
The radical-Zionists conned the Bush administration into attacking Iraq. That is just a plain fact.
All of the people on TV convincing Americans that war was justified were Jews and radical-Zionists.
The American media establishment, controlled by Zionists, fear Buchanan becaus he counters the standard Zionist propaganda that encourages Americans to die to advance the cause of Israel.
Zionism doomed but it is bringing down the US with it.
Americans, paying for and dying for Zionism.

Republican neo-cons, not conservatives. Don't confuse people.
CoastToCoastPM 3 years ago
Yes, that is a very important distinction. The "Republicans" of today are not conservatives. They are an embarrassment to anyone and anything associated with conservatism. George W. Bush is NOT a conservative, but quite possibly the worst president in American history who set the conservative movement back decades. If you want to see an example of true a conservative, take a look at Ron Paul (and notice how the GOP treated him). The Republican party of today is the antithesis of conservatism!!

stevegreen65 4 years ago 4
He doesn't speak out against racism. Accepts money from neo-nazis and wants to repeal the 1964 civil rights act. He is consistent b/c he thinks he knows how to bring utopia. News flash: no such thing.
andersoncouncil65 4 years ago
1.You don't know what he "thinks" so that point is moot. I believe Ron Paul is intelligent enough to know that utopia is far from achievable.
stevegreen65 4 years ago
Austrian economics (which he is a part of) says that they have all solutions to every problem (by using market forces. That is dogmatic.

Paul supporters should understand it b/c he follows it to a teet.
andersoncouncil65 4 years ago
Paul was the only congressman who voted against reaffirming the 1964 Civil Rights Act. That is embarrassing, to say the least.
Edgehead10075 2 years ago
2.Read this,"The true antidote to racism is liberty.Liberty means having a limited, constitutional
government devoted to the protection of individual rights rather than group claims.
Liberty means free-market capitalism, which rewards individual achievement and
competence-not skin color, gender, or ethnicity." This is why he wanted to repeal SRA of'64 it's against the Constitution.
stevegreen65 4 years ago
Throughout the hundred years of segregation, whites made the same claims. The govt wasn't involved even though whites were invading our liberties. The civil rights acts of 1964 and 1968 were essential to ending segregation, now we must end racism and that problem must be solved actively not passively.
andersoncouncil65 4 years ago
"andersoncouncil65"- While I agree with you that racism is abhorant and has no place in American society, it is nieve to think that the government can ever end it. That would require legislating peoples beliefs (whereas ending segregation dealt with actions), and as the communists learned this cannot be done. Racism can only be ended by exposing it to the shining light of knowledge.
PropagandaPolice 4 years ago
I'm all for actions. I'm also for democracy. If a people wish to get together to take an active policy against oppression, the government should listen. Oppression doesn't not stop b/c one crosses his fingers.
andersoncouncil65 4 years ago
No, it's not. The interstate commerce clause allows for it. Yeah, end racism by allowing businesses to be racist. Lol.

Edgehead10075 2 years ago
Chavez nationalize CITGO so that the Venezuelan people, and not a handful of rich foreign investors, benefit.
That is why he has been called a Terrorist
oldjoe5 2 years ago
You're obviously confused since you support Buchanan, an ultra-conservative, AND Hugo Chavez, a communist nutcase. Oil shouldn't be nationalized. It should be privatized; that's how capitalism (the greatest economic system in history) works. He's a terrorist because he lets terrorists into his country and gives them passports. He has quashed free speech by taking stations off the air if they criticize him. He's an anti-Semite like Buchanan and is friends with Ahmadinejad. He's a piece of shit.
Edgehead10075 2 years ago
Right. Oil profits should be used to further enrich the already rich, not for the benefit of all citizens. Good thinking
oldjoe5 2 years ago
I like how you ignored the other stuff that I said about Chavez. No, the government shouldn't own the oil. That's socialism, which doesn't work. There should be competition. Stop demonizing the rich; they provide jobs. Should the government take over all the fast food restaurants, too, dipshit? Fast food profits benefit the rich. Let's have them benefit the people. Lol.
