I found an easy way to counter such things. Though it was on king of the hill (which has different spawn changes). It would be the lancer. Holding B and chainsawing anyone that came near. We won the match and my team was immediately called 'campers' and I was poked at for chainsawing the people who enjoyed the wallbounce gnasher combo. I simply asked why they didn't counter my lancer with the gnasher. I got mixed responses. Most of them calling me silly names.

@TSSo7viiC187 So games shouldn't be friendly to new players? Unreal tournament was filled with 1 hit kill rocket types. Execution quick kill weapons have been Epics things since they first came out.

@TheArchangelNexus Yeah I don't think the game is noob friendly. I honestly do not believe in that word but yes Epic is being smart and trying to get new players to come to there game. But the so called pros come in and push the normal gamer's away. The game is not broken. I think the community is.

@TheArchangelNexus I think they are really put in a bad spot by the fans because anyone can look at this game and see it is a balancing act. They want the hardcore fans to come back; they want newcomers to join in the fun and profit (nothing wrong with a company making money, its how the world turns); and they want to make the game they have always wanted to. I mean, when they slowed the gameplay down for Gears 2, people flipped out.

Ive never had a problem with this at all, in the beta or in retail across 500+ matches. Then again, Im usually the one destroying people and going 15+/0.

If anyone ever tried this All HB spawn camping shit on me Id just toss a smoke.. problem solved.

Your problems may or may not be valid, but your problems sure as hell are not mine.

BTW, every map has a lot of cover at spawn. So really I don't even know what your talking about.

Koth spawns and hill switches are often retarded though.

@hohohoho578 There aren't any cover walls at many of the spawn points or they have cover that can be angled therefore making it more dangerous to use than anything. But if its not happening to you that doesn't mean its not happening. Its got to be fair for everyone. Don't you agree on fair play?

@hohohoho578 The smokies do work on many maps but for the uphill maps they don't work. The assailants just fire power weapons into the spawn taking most of the team out at the same time.

@fatieahjones It's gotten to the point where 9 out of 10 matches happen like this though. People are pretty much being forced to play like this. I myself have done this and even though we won I just felt like I had ruined someones day because the game is supposed to be fun and I broke that. So now I rarely rush the power weapons. I am trying to play the game as the way I think it should be; a team based cover shooter, not a breeding ground for ass holes.

@TheArchangelNexus I also honestly think they should change Gridlock. I love the map. Was my first Gears of War 1 map, then Clocktower ( I played the second first for some reason lol). i agree with you how you will either end up just constantly fighting for that sniper spot or you will get locked down in your spawn. And even worst, with the super buffed hammerburst and modded stuff, even IF you get those weapons you can still get pushed back!

@marchingeagle01 And I have nothing against the different weapons, even the sawed-off. But when the players abuse it, thats when the game starts to go down hill. Actually, if you think about it, the games not broken; the players are.

@marchingeagle01 The problem with that statement is that even though its 100% true players are the one thing that cant be [patched out of a game. People will always want the cheap and easy route to a win nomatter what and confuse it with skill.

@marchingeagle01 Thats why Developing games is hard. Out the gate you have to chose a side. Fun or skilled. I wish it were possible for a game like gears to have both. But the reality is while one guy is having fun the other isn't.

@TheArchangelNexus And really if you think about it, Gears of war is completely different than any other online shooter because it's personal. I don't know if Epic made it that way, but it seems that way. You get sniped in the head by someone camping, your gonna go and try to do the longest execute that person. You have so many elements in the game that pushes you into your opponent's comfort zone. So if a guy, be it a level 1 or a level 100, is getting killed non stop, they aren't having fun.

@marchingeagle01 Maybe Epic should have made the Casual playlist something for just casual players and make a newcomers playlist, perhaps like the training stages for gears 2 but with players online where score doesnt matter and you can replay the person who killed you?

@Jrfromney Gears has never had spawning like this in the game before and this new issue is being felt by many. TDM and power weapons at this un even level just doesn't mix. The maps are just too small for this. Spawn farming is too easy now.

the only map i tend to get spawn camped on is gridlock. you get someone in the belltower with the longshot and they snipe players the second they turn the corner, which sucks ass. i like your idea of random power weapon spawns, that could fix some of the problems. do u think having more spawns could fix the spawn trapping? or would that create more problems?

This is unacceptable and it needs to be fixed ASAP. The mode you were talking about was "King of the Hill". You made a lot of good points and I hope Epic listens to the community and trys to fix some of these issues.

@PointBlankGamez Its not just in KOTH its in all the modes now. Mainly the maps where your fighting over an elevated position. That spot allows the sniper to shoot everyone on the map. Totally unbalanced.
