Dead-shorting the caps like that will shorten their life and could blow old marginal ones, though maybe not immediately, more like when it's least convenient. Cesar's expertise doesn't mean he doesn't have some bad practices. Anyway, I thought this was supposed to be about mods?

With all due respect to Cesar and his ability mod amps, but I don't think this video should have been released. Cesar makes the process look easy because he is so good at what he does. but some half-wit will try to do an amp mod and will get electrocuted. Shit like this should be done by trained professionals.

Don't spray the Cramolin in the tube sockets - just spray some on a Q-Tip,coat the tube pins with it and reinsert. Less mess.

Actually, that's exactly what you need to do after spraying contact cleaner into the pots, so they clean before the fluid dries.

yeah you need to move them but he's ramming the pots at the end of their 'motion', that's what i meant, i don't think that's a good thing to do.

i dont like how he work. the worst is when he discharge the caps!! he must use a resistor not a screwdriver, that short can break the parts.

will not be surprise if someone come back few days later with defect or caps in the dead amp.

I've discharged caps that way all my life. No problems. Having said that your method is preferred
