This video could be fake. Seems like people are making fake vids cuz this topic is going viral.

But summer of 2011 me and my family would hear this at random parts of the day & night. It wouldn't happen often but when it did you felt it vibrating through your body.

People that are saying its fake have the right to. Untill they hear and feel this then they will know.

Maybe this has something to do with the thousands of birds falling from the sky or HAARP.

the reason to why this is fake, is easily revealed when the cameraman coughs at 1:09. There's a compression of the sounds recorded by the camera, but the "strange sound" is consistant.

It's easy to make a fake video indeed... but this sounds so much faker than the others.

The first sound is a reverb/delay feedback effect where the feedback is being turned on and off.

The distortion on top of the sound is also being reverberated (when it echoes, at lower volumes), meaning that the recording device is not the one clipping the sound.

Of course this could happen in nature if there is some sort of natural phenomenon that amplifies whatever is hurled at it, but I doubt it.

This is manmade for sure. I've heard enough techno and worked enough with production to tell.

Hei, noe lignende skjedde i Tromsø i sommer, klokken var ca 04.00 på natta, så plutselig kom det en gjentagelig høy lyd utover hele jævla Tromsø, ca like høyt som det i denne videoen, men det hørtes ikke ut som et monster, hørtes mer ut som en fugl som skrek utover ca 10 ganger i minuttet, men det var så høyt at det ble ekko gjennom hele Tromsø. Jeg har ikke funnet forklaring eller noe som helst på nettet. Det ser ut som jeg var den eneste som hørte det.

@scivanpoon I'm not saying it is not real, but there are many variables that may produce a sound like that. In the example you gave, a gust of wind onto a construction could have produced it. The video is not proof. For me to believe it, every variable should be covered. Also some experts and acoustical engineers from a renowned university or some scienceplace(lack of a better word) would have to check it out, but where are videos like that?

@gelatinium Er ikke sikker, jeg satt nemlig med headsettet på foran PCen og hørte på musikk. Så i en rolig del av låta så hørte jeg en høy lyd som ikke skulle være der. Da hørte jeg at det kom utenfra, men når jeg så ut så la jeg merke til at lyden liksom kom ikke fra noe sted. Hørtes noen ganger ut som det kom fra bakken, men da hadde det ikke vært så klar lyd. Jeg klipte bort slutten av videoen, for rommet mitt er rotete, uansett ble lyden borte. Tenkte jeg skulle hente min Zoom H4 opptaker

@gelatinium Hmm.. Ikke noe spesielt, men det vibrerte selvfølgelig som følge av lyden. Det var mange lavere toner som ikke mikrofonen på telefonen min plukket opp. Nå som du nevnte det, spurte jeg mora mi om hun la merke til noe vibrasjoner når det skjedde, og hun sa at glassene klirret. Som en kuriositet sjekket jeg en magnetometer(måler elektromagnetiske felt) på nettet, og den ga litt utslag like etter dette skjedde, måleren er langt unna. Se link: bildr.no/view/976210
