  • This may have already been covered in an earlier comment, but can you tell me what type of crochet item you are using. not like the traditional one I usually see but looks way more comfortable. Thanks

  • Wonderful video girl! I watched this bad boy like once or twice and learned how to crochet lol. My friend sent it to me to learn so I could do hers. This bad boy works wonders! Very good instructions, good video footage, and simple too girl. #Hands on learner! Thanks again girl! God Bless ya! :)

  • i lik what u using what is that

  • Yea that wasn't a crochet hook but it looks gud doe!

  • p.s. that's not a crochet needle/hook...that is a latch hook/for rug hooking/making.

the other has no latch on it.

    excellent workmanship though.

    peace

  • Great tutorial, great style!! You look fantastic!

  • its actually called a latch hook just so you know the crotchet needle doesnt have the latch to close just a hook.

  • @rockallday5 haha YUR a Hater haha prolly cant even do hair lame ass mafucka

  • @rockallday5

You need to learn how to speak before typing anything or even opening up your mouth. You sound super stupid.

YOU need to step your ENGLISH up or maybe go back to Elementary school. Hooked on phonics maybe???? wth is "tops notch b*tch aim me"???? uh...do not have children.

    @cnaomihill I agree

@YourDailyApple thanks for the vid! I love love love the end result!

  • it looks cute girl!

  • Thanks for making the vid. I've been wondering how to do this for a minute now.

  • for the last braid on the bottom that is tied down - did you mean sewn down alongside one of the other braids?

  • my God girl you braided the heck outta those braids LOL. The music is priceless LOL. Good job

  • where do u get the beaders from?

  • @TheeSexyThang18 I get the beaders from a local hair supply store. (Like where Chinese would own) They only are around 50 cents.

  • good tips and ideas. Really cute hairstyle

  • rock that hair!...i love it

  • lol, frankly I don't give a damn. Luv it...

  • where are you from?

  • can you tell me where you purchase the hook. Thanks

  • ┌∩┐(◕_◕)┌∩┐

  • Great job! Looks fantastic.

Thanks for sharing this especially the braiding in the back (beginning). I never thought of that.

  • i just have to say that is awesome!!!!

  • cute i like that

  • you did a nice job but I just wanted to tell you that you used a latch hook not a crochet hook

  • i cannot thank you enough...I have 4 of those hair beaders from my kids.....did not even think you could use it for this hair style!! thanks

  • Great tutorial!!

  • i didn't know you could buy crochet hair like that cause i actually still wear them like some people but i just buy the like pre-braided crinkly kind of hair cause thats the only kind i can find and i just use that pink and green crochet needle

  • @lovelydiva06: I used to wear this way back too! I can't find the pre-braided hair in my area :(

  • do you have a EARTH'S beauty supply store in your area cause thats wear i buy mine

  • you did a great job, how many packs of hair did you use.

  • Thank You....this video was a godsend

  • looks cute thanks for the vid. i bought the free tress hair and tried to actually braid with it and got all tangled, so now i guess i have to hook it in.

thats a latchhook, but you probably meant to say that. a crochet hook doesn't have that little flappy thing

  • oh ok thanks for telling me

  • Iused to do crochet braids/hair back in 98/99....I didn't know people were still doing it. I used to do mine different with the needle. Im technique was a bit different though. I never tied it off I just looped it through and it stayed.

  • it turned out really good...looks good on ya

  • LOL "i dont give a damn if yall dont like it cuz i love it..so...PEACE" ahistoracal!

  • I just did this style thanks to your vid. I love it. Thank you very much. I used different hair. What type of hair did you use in this vid?? Thanks again for the great tutorial. :)

  • i like it its cute i remember doing them about ten yrs ago imma try and do it again as a protective style for my natural hair!!! good job!

  • this is pretty. thanx for the video cuz ima do my sister hair

  • its cute but it look like it take a long time 2 do

  • i must be sleepy cus the hair just reminded me of top ramen noodles lol anyway but ... i also noticed a lot of the girls re using frestress i have on ocation used that one too , !! but do u know if u can crochet straight weave inttead of curly?

    thanx gurll :)

  • Awesome, I was thinking of trying this, but don't know how my hair will take to this style.

  • Girl, you worked the hell out of that of.that one ....I never seen that done before.....GREAT JOB GIRLFRIEND...

  • i never saw it done with the bead thread before it seem more time consuming to me. I always used the crochet needle. I know some people that crochet with a bobby pin.

  • omg gurl i just subscribed and kudos big time for da blonde highlights i don't think its too much i think its really cute how it is thanks for the video it helped alot

  • thank u babes

  • it looks really cute, but you put too much blond in it. Just the yellow streak on the right side of your face WAS ENOUGH.

  • So, did you crochet the back of your braids or just the front half of your head and the middle section? Thanks for the post!!!! I am going to try to do this on SUnday. I hope it works :-)

  • That is really pretty

  • FYI thats a latch hook for latch hooking like rugs. tell you the truth i dont know why they call it crochet braids but thats what they been calling it for about 15 years now.lol

  • You are a good teacher! Plus your hair is a true masterpiece, so pretty! Thank you for slowing the video down for a bit, it helps to have different perspectives on what you are doing. thank you. Keep up the good work!!!

  • I haven't done this in over 10 years so I needed a refresher! I want to tell you that you have one of the best tutorials I have seen on Youtube. I love your attitude and the way you speak. The music, the added text, the slow and quick examples, all excellent! Great job and your hair looks fab! Thank you so much for telling me what to do with the extra hair in the back. When I used to rock this when I had EL/SL hair, now I have BSL and had no idea what to do with the length but not anymore! :)

  • i hope to do more hair vids real soon

  • @rrrucker21 I agree her video was the best one.

  • did your knots come loose? how long did the style lastT?

  • What kind of hair did u use

  • Comment removed

  • HOW MANY PACKS DID YOU USE

  • 2 whole packs and a tad bit of the color

  • i like it

  • doorbell....

  • GURL!!!! Thanks sooo much 4 posting this! Im definitely gonna try this!

  • i did my sisters hair like a few months ago like this so u did a good job

  • How long does the synthetic hair last you?

  • Are you saying that the first two row of braids dosen't need any hair on them? Because i saw some other tutorials and they have in alot of hair, and i think that will be two much for me.

  • What do you use to moisturize your hair? And that technique your doing is really good, i'm going to try it next week. Where did you get those tools to buy?

  • HOW DARE YOU!!!!!!!!!!! You are clearly extremely ignorant. Look through your family tree and see just how pure you are in whatever race you claim to be. Too Bad you are not blessed to be as gorgous as an African American!

  • Well, you watched it for some reason... but tell us, why do you have to be so rude and racist and insult us 'niggers' if no one here insulted you ? What is the point ??? You are the monkey here, as you proved. Peace.

  • Please remove this ignorant comment... :(

  • omg this looks HARD good job... i could never do that :)

  • gurl ur hair looks reall good thanks for the tip but i think i'd rather u do my hair like dat cause i no i'll mess it up... but anyways just 2 let u no ur reall talented wit the hands!

  • I really like this. You did a great job.

  • That is a cute hairstyle. I love the big, bushy hair look. My hair is texturized now, but I want something new. I'd love to give this a shot. Thanks for the vid. :o)

  • Apple, thank you for this video. I have just finished doing mine and i loves it!!! your are so thorough in this vid. Down to the end were you instruct about using mousse for the frizz ( cuzz that's exactly what i need to do to mine right now)

    THANKS AGAIN APPLE!!!

  • Hey.... LOVE the video! Thanks for the tips... I'm about to go try it on a friends hair right now!!!!

  • honestly ur video really helped me becus u showed every detail and u were very specific thanks im going to call my cousin so i can practice on her head.i got almost every hairstyle dwn pack thnx for the help.

  • thanks i watched what were back then when i made this vid only a hand full of vids on it and tried to improve on things that the people in them said to make it real simple cause i know sometimes when people do hair vids they don't consider the level that the person watching maybe at or they don't get certain shots that u would need to see

  • i love it....I am actually transitioning from relaxed hair and need to do more styles cuz im tired with cornrows.......didnt know this technique at all...Thanks for d tutorial...

  • dey have needles at the beauty supply but cho hair still came out cute wit the beader

  • i had a hard time with this cause the hair would not stay tied but i used some ol wet and wavy knock off bullshit so i actually didnt try the brand you used iam try it today and see what happens

  • Hi yourdailyapple,

your video is just OUTSTANDING. THank you for teaching people, myself included, how to do the crochet hairstyle. thank you sooooooooooo much. I heard it helps ones hair to grow.

question............ how LONG are we supposed to leave our braids in? Do we condition wash it during the week and wash it on the weekends? Sorry I do not know much about braids but the braids look BEAUTIFUL on YOU! smiles.

Thanks again for this fantastic video :)

  • Hey there.. I didn't realize this was 'YOU". I watched your video tns of times to learn how to do crochet braids. When I could find the hair you used I bought the Femi collection Jamaican braid. I'ml still ooking for the Waterwave though... and I used the crotcht hook :)..Peace.

  • i lik ur crochetts i have been tryyin to learn to do something with my hair to get it to grow...but my hair is very very thin and i want to learn how to braid with extentions.

  • i could teach that no prob but i would need camera help

  • wat kind of camera help

  • really beautiful

  • i like how your hair came out . how long will it last tho

  • Thanks it seems simple by your demonstration and explanation. I will try...I am teaching myself to cornrow...they are still kinda pitiful lol but maybe I can get them tight enough to then cover with this technique...

  • Wonderful . thank you for making it so simple

Really nice . Love it . thanks again

  • Informative. Thanks!

  • wow that was a great tutorial! Thank you!

  • watz the name of that violin song at the end

  • yay i just did a big chop so i'm waiting for my hair to grow back long enough to do this style again cause it is a real great protective style

  • I LOVE IT!! you showed me something new and i will try soon as i take my braids out !!!

  • yes you will love it

  • oh girl i got this style now and i love it, its like 21 all over again im rocking it ..... thanks for the video

  • could you use a latch hook in place of the bead threader and achieve the same result?

  • yes if u watch the video i show u that

  • beautiful! :)

  • can you use straight hair? n can u style it different ways with the cornrows done all the way to the back

  • Great video! I'm gettin my crochet in in a couple days. Also, who was that song by on the very end of your video (with the violins)? sound like something I know from some friends of mine.

  • u do a grate job i wish u wil do mi hair and make-up

  • that look like it hurt girl

  • to make it easier, you can weave the bottom and crochet the top..... This looks nice.

  • I am looking around for hairstyles that I will be able to do myself. This looks easy and I love the finish product. But I am worried that the knots will loose out, will it? Other than the hair that you used, what other kinds of hair can I buy to use? Help! Thanks.

  • u can buy any brand that say blk twist idk look at the kind again and the knots look loose but they stay in very well so have no worries and tie it 3 ties if u still worried ok lol later

  • I have a question...what do you do with the ends of your corn rows? like i know you corn row your hair all the way back, straight, but what if your hair is longer, what do you do with the ends of it? Thanks so much!

  • i say u in the start of the vid u would braid it up and tie it down against the braids u braided down with some thread

  • Great vid! How long was your bulk hair before you cut it?

  • "I don't give a dam if yall like cause I love it" You go girl. You did an awsome job. Thank you for posting this it was very helpful.

  • how long does it last? and if it get wet does it nap up? also like other synthetic weaves does it nap up in the back around the nape area?

  • giiiirrrlll! this is too cute! im def tryin this style.

  • such a helpful video, i was thinkin of doin this very style so im so happy i found this, THANK U!!! ;-P

  • u so welcome girl

  • its an edit meledy from my mac imovie

  • okay... so im on my way out the door to go to the beauty supply store... what kinda mousse do u use cause the stuff i use makes it sticky and its disgusting....

this is sooooo cute.... i gotta do this girl!!!! lol

and how long do u leave this style in... how do u maintenance it??? do u use mousse all the time or some type of spray?!?

i need all the info girl!!!

    thnx

    -Ms Philly

  • ok the mousse is called smooth'n shine and it last for like a month maybe longer depending if u sleep with a scarf all that good stuff but i dont and it last me a month umm what else ok really the only maintaining u have to do is like when it starts getting older u will like trim the fuzzys and maybe mousse it down but other than that its low maintainance and easy to get to ur scalp so u can mositurize it

  • and you said you bought 5 packs of hair??? did u use all five??? or no?

and i noticed that you skipped the first two cornrows when u started to crochet,

did u leave it like that so it wouldnt be sooo full that it'd look crazy, or did u fill them in and i just missed it???

  • no like on both sides u will start of putting like 4 widely spaced out and pay more attention to the 4 in the middle of ur head then whe u see the fullness u add cause there were rows that i just left out all together no hair
