thx for uploading the video!! we went to a chinese buffet after words, was super hungry, fasted for almost 2 days! it's funny how many plates of food you can put away after a colonoscopy procedure! lol
I don't understand why you are so sleepy afterwards did they give you medication? When I had mine done I didn't get anything I was totally awake through the whole thing I remember everything that happened.
@mrkkinman "It's a crazy business" haaaaaa I said the same thing.especially since the Dr. probably had a coffee and a doughut before he did us ! Mine went pretty good - except for some cramping which lasted a few days and ended today (I think). Couple of Polyps removed and he wants to do it again in a year. I told him yeah ok. Right. I'll put it on my calendar as soon as I get home. Sounds like our wives has the same sick sense of humor~ lol
I enjoyed your video, funny guy! I'm having some issues, scared my dr will want me to have one. Do you not remember anything from beginning to end? I don't want to even feel that scope near me at all! Also, how bad is the stuff you drink? I throw up with the slightest nasty taste. I was suppose to have a stomach scan to see if I had diverticulitis but I canceled because I couldn't drink the white chalky stuff, made me almost throw up.
@iamaphotonut I really don't remember a thing at all from beginning to end. And the stuff you drink, you sorta get used to -- just avoid the lemon lime. Trust me, it isn't nearly as bad an experience overall as you think it will be. Hang in there -- and good luck!
@mrkkinman My issues turned out to be female issues so having a hysterectomy but I have to drink magnesium citrate, Is that what you drank? I see it come in lemon lime and grape. I was going to get the grape. Thank goodness I only have to drink 1 small bottle. I read on line the lemon lime can be mixed with Gatorade or sprite.
@iamaphotonut I think the stuff I drank was something different -- but it was very similar. It was by far the worst part of my whole procedure. Hope everything goes ok for you -- hang in there!
@iamaphotonut Honestly, nothing to stress about, You feel nothing, remember nothing. As for diverticulitis - (which is inflamed pocket(s)) Diverticulosis is far more common and are pockets - really very commmon. So avoid eating nuts, raisens and popcorn. These tend to wind up in the pockets which can cause diverticulitis. As for the drink - it's better than drinking the barium needed to scan your stomach with x rays. Just tough it out and chug it down. You'll look back saying not so bad,
@gary1568 Yea, I read up on the treatment for diverticulitis when I was trying to drink that stuff. Once I knew that watching your diet was the treatment I figured I can do that and save myself this stress. I don't believe I have diverticulitis at al. I had recently had a Celiac Disease panel done and it came back a high positive. Dr said I most likely have Celiac Disease but true test is an intestinal biopsy which I wont have. Diet is the same treatment so I just cut out gluten.
@iamaphotonut Can't say as I blame you there. Anything you can do to avoid the invasive stuff seems like the way to go to me, for sure. They still have no idea what my issues are, but thankfully my flare-ups are relatively uncommon.
Well thank you...i did finish taking the mix and towards the end was the worst, i felt so sick i couldnt even sit up i had to lay down alot. But i slept so hard last night. Now im wondering how this procedure is going to go. I just want it done and over.....I'll let you know the results in a day or so....
Im having my colonoscopy tommorow and as of right now im drinking the mix of gator aid and miralax that the instructions told me to do. It is working but im not done drinking the mix yet, almost there and I had to take 4 Dulcolax laxative tablets and I hope im done soon. The mixture wasnt really that bad like i thought it would be. All I really tasted was the gator aid. And its causing bloating thats about it so far.....
I'm having a double whammey tomorrow. I gotta have an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. I don't know what drink you had to take but i'm going to assume its something similar to Picolax? I've had my first dosage/pint of it today and have to have another one in a few minutes but it doesn't seem to have affected me? i also have had to take 10 Senakot laxitives too. I've looked on several sites and i dont know if i should be worried as nothings happened so far.
@mrkkinman Cheers mate. They definately worked! Eye of a needle and Mount Versuvious come to mind! Just what a shit time (pun intended) for it to kick in. It's nearly 11am now and i've been up half the night sitting on the bog. Certainly an experience.
This video was damned great; I recently had a sigmoidoscopy and was diagnosed w/ proctitis. I was told to eat whatever and that I was fine.... yea 2-3 weeks later after more sudden problems w/ animal protein and bread my doc ordered barium ct scans AND a colonoscopy. I am typically a happy-go-lucky cynic but these underlying issues they cant figure out has tossed my world into a tailspin. Watching vids like these w/ optimistic folks such as yourself slaps me out of depression. Thank you.
@LeDoppelganger Man, these stomach issues can really take you down a notch. So glad you got some good out of my video -- good luck to you & HANG IN THERE!
@hjones1 I did get the no-coffee headache, in fact. Never any fun. Not so much with the cramps, thank goodness -- but I can tell you that everything in my gut was in a serious hurry to get out once the process started! Hang in there with yours -- I promise it isn't as bad as you think it will be.
did they just sedate you like with valium or such or there was an anesthesiologist to keep you alseep during procedure? i need to have one but over here in Europe they don't normally let you sleep completely unless you go private and pay a lot of money. considering that i have a very long and twisted colon, if they don't put me asleep it will be hell!
@maxflyingcowboy Just simple sedation -- not sure what was in that stuff, but as you can see in the video it knocked me for a total loop. Good luck with yours -- if you get what they zipped into my IV (which is all I got) you'll NEVER know what hit you!
@3344utube Wish I'd had the "keep it cold" advice beforehand!!! Thanks for the compliment -- putting the film together was a nice diversion from the reality of it, for sure.
I just did this last night, it wasn't so bad really. Actually it was nothing compared to the colonoscopy itself, I felt everything. It was horrible. How did yours go? I hope everything turned out ok!
@henrydog80 Actually, I remember nothing (as you can see from my post-procedure idiocy in the video above). All was well. Making the video actually made it tolerable!

@nucleartrout Yeah, they zapped me with some I.V. mindscrambler concoction. I have no memory of most of the day, let alone the procedure.

you have to get it really ,really ice cold so you can't taste it as much and then use a big straw.
you must have be given versed because you have that amnesia -i think with propofol you would have been alert afterwards.
thanks for this video
