The marks are squad specific. You can give them different marks. But only one mark per unit

Some things worth noting:

1. Mark of Nurgle's additional toughness does not apply to instant death, it reverts to your base toughness for that (say my toughness is 5 +1 with MoN, it's still treated as 5 for instant death.)

2. Mark of Tzeench adds to your invulnerable save, OR gives you a save of 5+. If my unit already has an invulnerable save, it lowers it (5+ goes to 4+, so on and so forth.)

If I missed these in the video, I apologize. Good video, it was useful, I'm just starting CSM's.

I am gettin back into warhammer. I used to play fantasy back in the day I had a long range wood elf army. I am now going to try my hand at 40k. I am stuck between choosing the Grey Knights or Chaos Space Marines. I want a straight foward close combat killing machine of a army. The complete opposite of how I used to play. i once turned to the side of playing chaos. but that wasnt evil enough for me and since i used to be a necron player i was bored of having armies that could just survive everything...

so i started getting dark eldar! damn they are hard to play, but i got used to it. and they are nice and evil.

(sure chaos are evil but its mainly insanity. dark eldar are cruel and twisted, and i like how guard players have a better chance if they JUST use infantry)

Erm... I like you Dave, but in the codex it says that you can give a five-man squad an icon of chaos (meaning that the whole squad has the mark if the icon) and not necessary a ten-man squad. That's what it says... or maybe i lokked at the wrong page. if so tell me.

@RepublicCustoms Get a Terminator Lord only if you are planning on fielding another retinue of Chaos Terminators as a bodyguard for Deep Striking, or you could just use a Land Raider with Daemonic Possession (which is awesome). Daemon Prince should always have wings and have at least one psychic power; Warptime is great, and so is Lash of Submission if you want a Slaanesh Prince...

@toxicparamite well khorne bezerkers give you the ability to beat the orks close up (usually). just dont let them get shot.

a good tactic would be to bring plauge marines in front of them to get charged at bye the orks, it will help because you need charge bonus with bezerkers and the plauges will survive most thrown at them (try to avoid high AP guns though).

bikers will be able to shoot and keep a good distance from melee and you can use them to zoom up to his support, thats some basics..

@sharinggunlord at base costs, (without upgrades) that army is worth 1300. however, i would suggest that you purchase a chaos codex (from miniwargaming) so you can find your actual points cost (according to your squad load outs) and so you can have your rules on hand at all times.

@Adventchild8 in my opinion, no. they are pretty sweet in the movement and shooting phases,and toughness 6 is amazing. id try not to get them into combat, keep moving, and always shoot if possible. i use them to soften up objectives (if there are no vehicles on it) and then park a rhino full of plague marines on it.

@Radnick7 when you buy the Chaos squads you'll have an arm with a flag in his hand. put any of the Chaos symbols on the flag pole and put the arm on a guy in your squad.

I use Chaos Glory and its helped me out alot

This is a very hypocritical video. On the 1 hand he is saying dont be a power gamer, but then again on the other hand he is saying build your army around your opponents which is blatantly unfair and i would class that as playing to win over playing for fun as you are making a list specifically designed to combat your foe over making a list that can tackle a large variety of foes aka a competitive list...which are more fair (usually) on everyone. Thats just me though.

@Rincewindlolzor Building your army around your opponents is usually common sense. If you know you'll be facing tyranids, you might want to kit your army to kill a lot of opponents with a low armour save, fielding flamers and the such, for example. Your opponent should be taking similar countermeasures. What he's referring to as being a power gamer is by fielding very little troops and filling the rest of the army with terminators and possessed or whatever, and overflowing the field with elites.
