  • I just did this, thanks for the video DIY!

  • nice video!

  • your good docs document descritions are pretty funny :P

I have a problem with the door and trying to fix it as well

  • I just finished doing this to my ep3r. exept I just cleaned whole assembly with degreaser.2 hours later ! success

  • Thanks so much for making this video. I would have had no idea what to do otherwise. You are an asset to social media outlets like this. I watched it 3-4 times while performing the same steps and was able to successfully replace my unit, and get everything back together. Thanks!

  • @micahman33

You are welcome. I need to post an updated video with HD footage next time I have my door card off.

  • what size have the loudspeakers...?

  • @Savanavanavada

I take it that you meant to ask what size speakers are in the door? The door can fit 6.5" speakers with aftermarket brackets. I am making HDPE speaker rings for my car.

  • @GreenGook Thanks....

  • That was great! I just used this video to help me through changing the door lock actuator on my 2004 Civic LX. The setup was pretty much exactly the same except the white shroud covering the actuator had two screws securing it.

  • Hi, I just did the procedure but the lock still isn't functioning with my remote. I know for a fact that my passenger side just gone bad recently, do u think i should replace the passenger side first in order for me to get the driver side to work? I checked the fuse...remote, everything looks fine...i'm at loss here thx

  • @bukanasli

When pressing the remote do you get any sort of feedback that it recognized that you pressed a button on the remote? I have to start at the basic question and ask if the battery is good in your remote, and if so is your remote programmed for use with your car?

  • Does anyone know if this would apply to an '01 Civic?

  • how do u know when it time to replace it?

  • thank you for making this video and being helpful

  • same goes to 72155-SDA-A01? ...im assuming.

  • At 40 seconds, the white channel part. Is that supposed to be connected to anything when it is put back? I put that white part back, but did not connect it to anything...just dropped it behind the door knob. Now my door will not open from the inside with the handle. I have to open the window and unlock the door with the outside handle. Any thoughts? Great video by the way. It is super clear.

  • @casperontheweb

The plastic piece in question is not really needed for operation of the door. It is more of a cover to prevent the lock rod from being picked with a slim jim or similar car unlocking device.

  • Does anyone have a video on how to remove the door panel?

  • @bmalnad

I place a PDF guide above in the description.

  • Thanks so much!!!

  • Thanks for making this video it really help me on my EP3 but when i was working on this i opened the actuator with a knife that i had preheat at the stove, and i just change the motor and i glue it up with crazy glue back together and it worked for me.

  • thanks for making it, going to help me a lot rebuilding my honda

  • thanks for doing this video...very very helpful.

  • He called my hands fat :(

  • Thanks for making this video. You're my hero

  • i have an EP3,

when I lock drivers side door,

the passanger side door won't lock.

    same with unlocking.

when I use the lock/unlock switch for the hatch

on drivers side, it doesn't lock the passanger side door.

sounds like i need to do this correct??

    (thank your for ur help)

  • @DarkStrado

Yeah, it sounds like that is your passenger side actuator.

  • How do I know which actuator needs to be replaced? 2004 Honda Accord LX.

    Thanks

  • @jimmyhorse1

    2 Door or 4 Door?

If the Driver side door does not unlock or lock, then replace that one.

If the Passenger side door does not unlock or lock then replace that one.

In the Ep3, I could unlock and lock the passenger side with the remote and the driver side was the one that stopped working.

Shortly after replacing the Driver side one, the Passenger side went out, so in the end I replaced both.

  • I don't think its the actuator. Apparently I need to reset the key code. I can unlock the doors from the remote and inside the car. However, I cannot lock the doors from the inside or using the remote. But if I manually lock all doors and then press the Lock on the remote, the lights flash and it honks. Its not one door. All 4 are doing this.

    Thanks for your help though.

  • @jimmyhorse1 I have a 4 door '05 Accord with a bad driver's side actuator. None of the doors unlock unless I unlock the driver's door by hand, after which, the rest work OK. That's probably due to the anti-carjacking logic that only unlocks the other doors after the driver's door is already unlocked. I'm sure it gets confusing if more than one actuator goes bad.

  • Thanks! Looks like my 2003 CRV's actuator replacement is near identical.

  • ok so what is the process or how do you take your window off in order to get to the door lock actuator

  • You roll the window up before you start.
