"Thinking of you", by the Silvertones was recorded in Pittsburgh, PA. and the guys that did it are from the Northside of town. I was at the recording of it, they could have made it big, if wasn't for the manager they had at the time...
I checked this out after seeing the it featured on the short documentary "Paul Mawhinney - the world's largest record collection- by Very Ape Productions ." The documentary aired on PBS and is available on YouTube. Anyone interested in music of any kind, and especially has a weakness for the warm, full sound of vinyl MUST check it out!
@TheNEWfilmfanatic99 Makes you wish you had a million dollars, doesn't it? I could spend weeks doing nothing but going through that collection and listening to all those records and just be ecstatic. Paul Mawhinney deserves some kind of award for dedicating his life to archiving music for the rest of the world. So sad.
Hard to find may be an understatement. I heard this from a Lost and Found tape (I think from '93) that Paul had made for me. As a matter of fact it was probably your copy that was played. I've been looking for a copy of this ever since. I saw one on Ebay, put a high bid on it ($50 over book value) and ended up being outbid at the last minute.
These guys played at our prom Jordan High..Long Beach, CA 1963

This reminds me of a rare one I picked up last year by The Delong's (yes, there's an apostrophe in their name - weird) on Art-Flow.
