i play bball and have average athleticism. I have always struggled increasing my vertical. I can dunk regularly, but I want to explode to the next level and be able to dunk on people and in traffic. I am a one footed jumper and have always noticed that i drag my back toe. I just want to make sure that I put myself in position to handle the ball correctly and practice good basketball techniques for driving the lane, etc, while still learning to jump correctly and effectively. thanks for your help
I have the same feeling as @XGURU714 you have to dribble the ball low but you are saying to take off tall. I have watched dunks of lebron, etc and sometimes they do have good penultimates with short steps and they take off tall, but other times, their strides are long and they are crouched and leaning diff directions. I get they are freak athletes and can get away with some technique flaws, but how can a bball player make sure to handle ball while still doing techniques you are showing here
Adam, I'm a 14 year old, 5'6 ... Is it posible y can dunk, o evn touch the rim.!??? Please respond and send me some tips, to jump higher.... Thanks ;)
@XxhotblackPRxX I'm 5'8 and I can touch rim pretty easily. It's all about how bad you want it. I want to be able to dunk and I've been hitting the gym doing heavy squats for some time. The form that you use is very important. I'm hoping to get the form down really well and maybe I will be able to dunk soon. Just try these tips, they will definitely help.
im just 5'4 something...........izit possible i can dunk?if i follow this program..how about those people using gym to increase vertical?izit same thing?
the drills are used by olympic volleyball players and they jump real high. It would only make sense for many people to be jumping higher instantly if your drills are similar to an olympic volleyball player's. And to diac0003 you might want ot do some exercises, this video is all about technique to give you extra inches to your vertical.
@XGURU714 Good Question. The key is all PRINCIPLES apply while dribbling, but the "staying tall during approach" principle.. Dribbling, you tend to have to get low... the key is at TAKE OFF to reach the speed that is your Max controlled, and take off TALL... watch D-rose or Lebron... they attack low, but get tall for take off. as it is the most explosive point for a high jump!
@vf101dunktour so basically if your going for a layup running full speed and i take a left step then right i should stay tall and explode off the right foot for a high layup?
Hey i just stumbled upon this video and i just wanted to say that you are the man !!!! have always planted my heel to toe when i jumped and i remember one training i used the ball of my foot to jump and i swear i could feel i jumped higher. This must of been it. :) (happy) I am sick right now but as soonest i get better i am going to do these exercises. Thank you so much man, i know this is not a scam and thank you for this so much once again, you are the best :)
@vf101dunktour Dont worry its private lol so no one else can see it haha, plus its helpful to be able to look back on the workouts if people dont understand them :)
I am a 6 foot 14 year old that can inconsistently dunk. When I run up I have the habit of almost running in a small zig-zag pattern. Though I am able to not slow down when I do this. I was wondering if it is a bad habit?
nice job man, I don't play basketball I play soccer but I think this will really help when jumping up for a header. They seem like great drills...thanks!

@jacobschroederXC Absolutely. Don't limit yourself to being one kind of jumper. To be the best in your sport, you should learn both ways
