  • all forms of Tang lang Quan looks beautiful imo, wish tehre was someone to teach me any form of it around here :/

  • after seeing you perform 8 step mantis forms,i may learn them myself.

I do 7 star mantis and wing chun. and you have inspired me into 8 step mantis.

Thanks. you can check out my page of videos for my mantis forms, and wing chun.

  • Thank you for kind words kustomhead. :)

  • good, except when you went off camera so we couldn't see what you were doing=)

    post more stuff!

  • He he, yes - thats how it is when there is no cameraman present, and you have to do everything on your own, both set up the camera, and be in front of the camera. :)

  • I bribe my friend Leah by offering to proof-read her term papers for school, lol

  • to play camera man, that is=)

  • back straight, more power at the end of strikes, all else is good :)

  • You look very confident when you do the set. Beautiful!

I'll be learning from Sifu Cercle here in Seattle this coming summer. I will only have a few months with him before I move out of the country, however, so in the interest of getting as much from the experience as possible, how should I prepare myself physically? Horse stance for as long as I can, or something? I'm really new to this.

  • Li Pi is very hard on the legs, so training the legs is always a good preparation, and stance training is excellent (different stances, not only horse stance though). Good luck with your training!

  • I do Taekwondo, but I'm looking at going to a Krav Maga place at the same time...what do you think? Are the 2 conflicting in "style"?

  • Krav Maga and TKD are very different, but since they focus on different aspects (TKD on kicks and Krav Maga on practical self defense), it should be no problem combining them. I`ve trained both (but not at the same time). :)

  • ok cool, guess I'll try it out, Thanks!

  • Lower stances! Hand work is not bad though

  • Regarding the stances... The film was taped in anamorphic 16:9 format, but YouTube has converted it to 4:3 format. Therefore everything looks squeezed and then the stances will also look higher and more narrow than they actually are. :)

  • Ah. That would explain it then! What style do you? I noticed there are some differences in the set compared to ours (8 Step Preying Mantis), so I am assuming its a difference style.

  • I practice with The Wu-Tan organization, and their branch here in Norway. My teacher is Shifu Paolo Castaneda.

  • good to see working on stuff! you have improved!

  • my only critque would be for you not to look down

  • Nice moves !

  • Not bad at all :D Keep up the good work ^^
