they paid china for it because none of the american based companies wanted to take one of thier production lines down long enough to retrofit them for the converter boxes and most of that money that was set aside was for administration and implimentation costs and all that advertisement on the tv and internet.

I also went and bought a Dell Tv years ago and it went down so i am thinking.. call Dell , American company, American repar quick and easy ... not so internals are made in Mylasia :o(

If you check some of the old analog channels with a signal analyzer, you will find a carrier signal on some of them.

I don't know what is being sent over these carriers, but it doesn't seem to be audio.
