I think you can't compare Anette's voice with Tarja's. Both are great singers but very different. I 've seen Tarja and Anette on stage and I was really enthusiastic :)

I'm not sure anyone actually knows, but I think she dresses so "uniquely" because if she wore the classic dress with dark make-up, then she would be compared more to Tarja than she already is. I honestly think her dress is to show how different she is from Tarja. She's trying to break that sterotype from everyone's mind. Personally, I love her personality on stage. I find it much more 'crowd fun' than Tarja's performances.

Now, to say that DPP had better marketing... DPP is in an era where downloads have never been more popular, so album sales are on the downside.

@J2EEOleg People could have checked out Anette on here long before DPP came out. Nightwish isn't the first band she was in. For 6 years she was in a band called Alyson Avenue and they have songs on here from when she was in it. There were a shitload of people upset about Tarja being kicked out, so I'm sure they refused to buy DPP because of that. Also, with youtube now, people don't need to buy CD's to check out how good a singer is. Not a good excuse. Try again.
@GreenDay1981 Annette in another band is a completely different thing. The previous band(s) could play music that matches her voice and singing abilities. By coming to Nightwish she found herself in a new plate, something that has not been created having her in mind. It's like signing Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You"... just a handful of people worldwide can sing it at least somehow resembling the original and I'm not even saying better than original... that's simply a song _for WH_
It's a shame for Nightwish to have such a low life like Anette as a singer. My grandma is better than her. Tarja had this unexplainable energy or aura that attracted so many people over the years.

Tarja could not sing all that well. She would get horribly off key and way off beat because she'd draw notes way over. Now Annette doesn't have the best voice either, but I do love Nightwish and enjoy both female singers the same. None compares to Marco though! And Jukka must be in great shape after playing this song.

No sean tan ignorantes, si la echaron a Tarja por algo habrá sdo, en este caso por que según Holopainen se la estaba dando de diva y era codiciosa. En mi opinión, Anette no canta mal, solo dicen que es mala porque tienen bronca de que hayan expulsado a Tarja ya que tenía una muy buena voz y era una gran cantante. Si bien Anette no es como ella yo pienso que es una buena cantante en una gran banda. Grettngs from Argentina :)

Y a otro, que podría decirse que es un veterano del rock, le hice escuchar Bye Bye Beatiful y me dijo que la cantante tenía buena voz... Así que despues de todo no es tan mala.
Marco es un master y me encanta como Jukka toca la batería...
Conclusión es una gran banda, aún sin Tarja. Aceptenlo, ya se fue, e insultando a Anette no van a llegar a nada.

But theres no need for Tarja's haters to come here on this video (or in any video) to say that Tarja usually sang off Key. Of course thats false and nobody believes on haters. The same for Anette's haters who say she is singing bad on this video, because she is not.
A Classical singing technique cannot be compared to this. It is a technique that answers to different musical demands.

@Feanor2345 Wikipedia lists worldwide sales for DPP at 1,500,000 while Once is listed at 1,200,000. What does YouTube have to do with it? You can't buy albums off YouTube. People can use YouTube to listen to the new singer instead of buy the album. Also, are there not clips of old Nightwish songs on YouTube? There are still lots of people still bitter that Tarja is gone, so I doubt they've bought DPP. Oh, and DO NOT insult Nightwish by comparing them to Justin Bieber. That's disgraceful.

I mean that before 2005 did not have YouTube and therefore many people did not know that the NW are exist.

Anyway, I just want to say that "yes", DPP has been Nightwish's most commercially successful album. The explanation is simple, it's the most accessible album Nightwish put out. Now, to say that DPP had better marketing... DPP is in an era where downloads have never been more popular, so album sales are on the downside.

@J2EEOleg People could have checked out Anette on here long before DPP came out. Nightwish isn't the first band she was in. For 6 years she was in a band called Alyson Avenue and they have songs on here from when she was in it. There were a shitload of people upset about Tarja being kicked out, so I'm sure they refused to buy DPP because of that. Also, with youtube now, people don't need to buy CD's to check out how good a singer is. Not a good excuse. Try again.

By coming to Nightwish she found herself in a new plate, something that has not been created having her in mind. It's like signing Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You"... just a handful of people worldwide can sing it at least somehow resembling the original and I'm not even saying better than original... that's simply a song _for WH_

Tarja could not sing all that well. She would get horribly off key and way off beat because she'd draw notes way over. Now Annette doesn't have the best voice either, but I do love Nightwish and enjoy both female singers the same. None compares to Marco though! And Jukka must be in great shape after playing this song.

Because she is at work.- when I work as camera man on a wedding i wear suit and never ever in any other situation. Besides our culture is based on images of woman sexuality whether u like it or not [I dont care what raging lesbians and suffragists will say to that] and sadly she must help her voice with proper "gear."
