un film bellissimo tratto da un grandissimo romanzo! però mi piange il cuore vedere l'avanzata dei barbari in camicia rossa!hanno decretato il declino di un regno fiorente, al contrario del piemonte in bancarotta, trasformandolo in una colonia! bah!

Aquesta pel·lícula és magnífica... És una obra d'art en tots els sentits: per la interpretació dels actors, per l'escenografia, la imatge, la música. Visca el gran Luchino Visconti, i igualment Nino Rota! Ah, visca també la Sicília, i el "signore di Salè", "il gattopardo". I per acabar: no a la unificació liberal burgesa d'Itàlia.

I am French, and do not speak Italalian. Of course, because of the similarities of both languages, I can understand quite a few things in Italian. But I just know this movie almost by heart, and there is so much in it in the attitude of the characters. Like the introduction scene of Angelica for example, where there is suddenly all the sights converging towards her and the people that stop talking. This is so powerful

film bellisimo,certo che chi si è abituato a vedere film volgari pieni di parolacce e sozzerie non hanno più il gusto per apprezzare i bei film.

Indimenticabile opera d'arte. Ancora oggi, quelle pochissime volte che lo trasmettono alla TV (che ultimamente lascia a desiderare nei programmi) fa sempre un gran successo di ascolto!

@arabesco76 English is one of the most commonly spkoen languages in the world.

If a film has optional english subtitles then people can watch and follow it if they read english, whether they are from america, asia, spain, germany, france, or wherever).

Where as an italian film without the option of subtitles severly limits the number of people who can watch it, as italian isn't as commonly spoken or understood, in a global sense.

@orangotazio Yeah, and if I just learn every language in the world I never need to use subtitles again...not that that's a realistic goal. The fact that I'm interested in other countries and their cultures enough to watch films with subtitles puts me ahead of the average film viewer who dosen't want to be bothered to read when they watch a film (not just the average american, in many countries, films from other parts of the world are often seen badly dubbed into their language).
