That wasn't an elbow.. unless the middle of the humerus is now considered the elbow. There was a push-back, but it's pretty clearly the upper arm that connects with Krejci's head first.

As far as this hit goes, leading with your forearm is still considered an elbow b/c it's still near the elbow/hands area, which you cannot lead with....also, just watch the slow mo part, he leaves his feet pretty blatantly. Even when you pause at 2:52 and full screen it, his elbow is making contact with Krejci's neck/head.

The whole hit would have been avoided had Krejci kept his head up.

My biggest issue with Subban is that he has great skill and potention but struggles to find the line between good, strong, hard nosed hockey and chippy hockey. Marchant struggles with the same thing. If you are going to play on the edge and occasionaly cross it then you should be prepared to back yourself up. This video just does not do Subban an favors. I hate both the bruins and Subban but Subban will not get suspended for this. Yes, he more or less pussied out for turtling and ference made fun of him for it. There were skates around on the ice but he could have put more of an effort into staying on his feet.
As for the hit it is a shoulder to the head, with the point of contact being caused by Krejci stopping when Subban was already committed.

That wasn't an elbow.. unless the middle of the humerus is now considered the elbow. There was a push-back, but it's pretty clearly the upper arm that connects with Krejci's head first.
But covering up after that... that's wimp shit.
Subban has the skill, but not the balls. I really, REALLY hope he doesn't turn into another Matt Cooke: he'll get killed out there.

@kmikl I honestly think PK is worse than Cooke. Maybe he doesn't throw cheap shots as often as Cooke does, but his are certainly worse.
As far as this hit goes, leading with your forearm is still considered an elbow b/c it's still near the elbow/hands area, which you cannot lead with....also, just watch the slow mo part, he leaves his feet pretty blatantly. Even when you pause at 2:52 and full screen it, his elbow is making contact with Krejci's neck/head.

@jdjdjdjd3330 If you watch @ 2:30 he didn't lead with his forearm even a little... that was a shoulder, so that part was clean. He did jump up, so that part was sketchy. I looked at 2:52 as well, and it looked the same: elbow/forearm was tucked in, shoulder check, push back. The only major issue I'd have is the proximity to the boards.. that's where Ference was right to get in on him.
The whole hit would have been avoided had Krejci kept his head up.

@jdjdjdjd3330 Cool, As a Sens fan, I've had to defend a hit from Chris Neal on Drury (BUF) that was similar, but it was a clean hit. Neal didn't jump up though, same situation: had Drury not been admiring a fine pass he made he would have noticed he was lined up for a hit.
Now that I look though, Subban didn't cover up until he hit the ice, looked like he tripped after he hit the boards.

@haruururha Not everyone needs to fight in the NHL. My biggest issue with Subban is that he has great skill and potention but struggles to find the line between good, strong, hard nosed hockey and chippy hockey. Marchant struggles with the same thing. If you are going to play on the edge and occasionaly cross it then you should be prepared to back yourself up. This video just does not do Subban an favors. He has skill but not the williness to back up his "on the edge" style.
