Iron roughneck, bridge rackers for derrick, dual top drives, power sips after 30 or so stands, 6 5/8" drill pipe at the smallest running 3 joints of range 3 for a stand (125 feet). Commonly drill in the 28,000-35,000 range. It takes around 18 hours to trip 24,000 feet of pipe. Call us pussys but the money is AWESOME. So i dont care.
H&P outlawed spinning chains on their rigs. The only spinning chain I use is on a hoist and I use it to make up lift subs to collars while they are in the pipe wrangler. Just put a long ass chain on a hoist and use it to lift the sub, hold it sideways and stab it. Then just slack off the hoist and wrap the chain around it as you go so when you hoist on it, it spins in your sub. Just a little trick for my fellow FLEX-NECKS! H&P 428 in SoTX all day baby!

In the summer here it can get around 30 to 40 degrees celcius. Translated in dumbass yanky language thats hovering around 100F not MUCH of a difference. Id love seeing you when its -40 out with a wind chill of about -50 celcius. At least we can say we've worked in hot weather. You couldnt say tthat about working in the cold.
