1, The canvas used is called Hessian its actualy the best quaslity cloth for deep buttoning

2, Leather doesn't breath because it has been dyed and laquered and is dead animal skin so it doesnt breath.

3, sofas arnt grown in feilds so wont get dry rot depending on how damp your house is (i dont know where you live but i wouldnt of thaught people would have sofas in mud huts.

4, the leather is treated so their is no odors.
