@RgSideeeeeeeeee Every pedal company makes their ups and downs pedals. My board consists of Boss, EHX, BBE, MXR, Digitech, Ibanez, and a couple of boutique pedals. You just sound like a snob saying that shit. This pedal could definitely have a place in my lineup. It just needs to be used properly.
@SpilsburyJames No you don't understand. I'm not saying it sounds bad, just that it isn't unique sounding for an analogue pedal. And being a boss surely isn't that rare.
I pick one up a year or two ago at a pawn shop for 50 bucks. Got it only cus I knew it was rare and to add to my boss collection. Only thing is that I don't have a use for it in my usual set up. Just not that usable to my ears.

Great pedal and some cool sounds but you can get close to them with lots of modern chorus effects. I wouldn't shell out the E-bay asking prices for this effect but if I sleep with a picture of it under my pillow for 20 years one might appear under the bed! Out of the most sought after Boss effects it beats the SG-1 and the SP-1 hands down. You could buy a nice guitar for the price of those two combined. Nice demo.

the PS-5 has a mode that is supposed to imitate what the VB-2 does. anyone compared them?

FYI - Rise Time doesn't do anything in Latch mode - it only works in unlatch mode.
It controls how fast the effect is mixed in - fully CCW is fastest mix and fully CW is the slowest.
