Not on ATI gpu's (YES even i7 has problems with CPU simulations... have tested with a friend) But with a proper gpu (the physX ppu's dont work that good anymore) THIS IS completly real-time, if i just learned mapping in UT3 (I find it harder than stuff like Source SDK) Then i could show you this on a GTS 250 1gb.

Physx is a piece of software that is supported only by nvidia cards (there's a lot more than that but i can't be asked to type it)

actually, physX is a quite normal physics engine that works with BOTH nvidia and amd except the fact that the calculations can be done on the gpu with a nvidia GeForce card (instead of cpu, when you got an AMD card) which is way faster (just to prevent misunderstandings..sounded like you cant use physX with amd :) ).

Well ok yeh you can use PhysX with an AMD cpu but not an AMD (also known as ATI) graphics card

It's really designed for Nvidia gpu's but has support for AMD

It's ok if you have a quad core AMD and use 2 cores for the PhysX but still no were near as fast =)

this is what i wrote =) when you got an amd card (ati (graphics) was bought by amd and is "just" a brand name now, so i was correct, too) the calculations are done on the cpu; with GeForce cards with cuda support on the gpu so... nvm ^^

the new card isn't quite designed yet for that many at once. plus he's doing it with audio and everything else going. if you were just doin ga limited to graphics only , there wouldn be those problems, he's probably got onboard audio or a lower end cpu.

hey i just got the 260 gtx all i can say its a fucken fantastic card it's fast it still have room to be over clocked if its the superclocked version. but yeah it plays crysis good at the rez of 1680 by 1050 i got about 50 fps and on very high you get maybe 30 to 45. all i can say about this card is wow.

well oh high with the res of 1440x900 you might be looking at maybe 60 fps depending on your set up hard drive and ram etc it all goes with it. with it set to very high you might be looking at 48 fps so it vary s. i can tell you this the gtx 260 and the gtx 280 are one in the same, because the specs are close and they produce about the same in graphical power in almost every game but the 260 lacks like 7 fps behind crysis on high or vary high so its not much different. the 280 supports higher re

The PhysX mod on UT3 was suckier than I expected though. All it provieded was few maps with special physics. I don't think breaking the walls and tornadoes messing up the vision is fun.
